21-Day Prayer & Fasting: Day 20 – Standing Against the Spiritual Forces of Wickedness
The devil wants to populate his kingdom and therefore he fights us on a daily basis even though he knows we have been rescued as stated in Colossians 1:13 “He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of His beloved Son.” We must pray because Satan is constantly going around. Job 2:2 “And the LORD said to Satan, "Where have you come from?" Satan answered the LORD, "From roaming throughout the earth, going back and forth on it." In his mission, he wants to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). Therefore, we must put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:11) and stand in Christ (God’s truth). The full armor is our protective gear and what identifies us as God’s children in the warzone. While standing we do not stand like fools, but we stand vigilantly in the spirit because Satan is always going around looking for the least opportunity to commit his evil on whoever he finds as stated in 1 Peter 1:5:8 “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.”
We must understand our position in Christ, a position of victory. When we put on the full armor of God, we know fully well that is not a physical battle as well as our God is not physical. We come also with the understanding that we have not come to an already place but unto mount Zion, the place of victory, the place where the Glory of God is being displayed according to Hebrews 12:22 “Instead, you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem. You have come to myriads of angels.” Isaiah 24:23 “The moon will be confounded and the sun ashamed; for the LORD of Hosts will reign on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem, and in the presence of His elders, He will display His glory.”
God has blessed us in the heavenly realms with the spiritual weapons that we can use at the warzone to confront the enemy. Ephesians 1:3 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms”. Exodus 15:3” The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his name.” Revelation 19:11 “Then I saw heaven standing open, and there before me was a white horse. And its rider is called Faithful and True. With righteousness He judges and wages war.” We serve a God who is a mighty man of war, therefore He blesses us with the weapons of war. The reason being that every believer irrespective of who you are or are called to do is in some form of spiritual battle not by choice. The good news is that we fight a war that started on the cross and Jesus was declared the winner. Anything that was disadvantageous to us, Jesus canceled it by the power of His blood and he defeated the powers that stood or would want to stand in our way of breakthrough even today. Colossians 2:14-15 “having canceled the debt ascribed to us in the decrees that stood against us. He took it away, nailing it to the cross! And having disarmed the powers and authorities, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.” We live in Christ according to Galatians 2:20 “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” Therefore, our battle is from the place of victory in Christ Jesus. In Christ we are trained for battle. Psalm 18:34 “He trains my hands for war, so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze.” Although He trains us for battle, He does not stay behind while we go into the battle field alone. He is there with us as noted in 1 Samuel 16:18 “One of the young men answered, “Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, who is skillful in playing, a man of valor, a man of war, prudent in speech, and a man of good presence, and the Lord is with him.”
You ask, why war when Jesus already won the battle?
1 John 5:19 “We know that we are from God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.” We live in the world where evil strives and that is why Jesus prayed in John 17:15 “I am not asking that You take them out of the world, but that You keep them from the evil one.” Ephesians 6:12 makes us to understand that the evil one is made up of a network of powers, principality, rulers, and spiritual forces of wickedness. These were the same wickedness that Daniel had to confront in Daniel 10:11-13 “He said to me, “Daniel, you are a man who is highly precious. Consider carefully the words that I am about to say to you. Stand up, for I have now been sent to you.” And when he had said this to me, I stood up trembling. “Do not be afraid, Daniel,” he said, “for from the first day that you purposed to understand and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them. However, the prince of the kingdom of Persia opposed me for twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left there with the kings of Persia.” We have been given the power and authority to fight and claim that which is rightly ours while we pass by the earth. Luke 4:6"I will give You authority over all these kingdoms and all their glory," he said. "For it has been relinquished to me, and I can give it to anyone I wish.”
Arise and remind Mr. counterfeit that Jesus canceled everything that was written against you. Remind him that he was also defeated, stripped naked, and exposed by Jesus Christ on the Cross. Colossians 2:14-15 “having canceled the debt ascribed to us in the decrees that stood against us. He took it away, nailing it to the cross! And having disarmed the powers and authorities, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.”
Remind Mr. counterfeit where you are standing; in Christ, Mt Zion, God’s city with Angles ministering to your needs, followship with other believes, God Himself as judge, Jesus, the place of the new covenant, where Jesus’ blood is present and speaking, thus the line is drawn, Satan cannot enter this zone. Hebrew 12:22-24 “But you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly, in joyful assembly, to the congregation of the firstborn, enrolled in heaven. You have come to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.”
Stand on the power of the blood of Jesus Christ and remind Satan that you have ruled over him by the blood of Jesus and by the word of your testimony that you are aware that Satan was defeated on the cross of Calvary. Revelation 12:11 “And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death.”
It is time for us to arise now. We have been in fasting for 20 days already. Cry out and declare that things must stand still now for you to push through the line of victory. We cannot afford to fight the same kinds of war and going through the same issues we had before. We need a breakthrough now. Call on the Lord to arise as in the days of Joshua. Joshua 10:10-13 “And the LORD threw them into confusion before Israel, who defeated them in a great slaughter at Gibeon, pursued them along the ascent to Beth-horon, and struck them down as far as Azekah and Makkedah. And as they fled before Israel, while they were going down the ascent of Beth-horon, the Lord threw down large stones from heaven on them as far as Azekah, and they died. There were more who died because of the hailstones than the sons of Israel killed with the sword. At that time Joshua spoke to the Lord in the day when the Lord gave the Amorites over to the sons of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, “Sun, stand still at Gibeon, and moon, in the Valley of Aijalon.” And the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, until the nation took vengeance on their enemies. Is this not written in the Book of Jashar? The sun stopped in the midst of heaven and did not hurry to set for about a whole day.”
Pray that God will stand by you and strengthened you as you face challenges in doing the work, He has called you to do. Pray that He will also recuse you and your ministry from the hand of the evil one. 2 Timothy 4:17-18 “But the Lord stood by me and strengthened me, so that through me the message would be fully proclaimed, and all the Gentiles would hear it. So I was delivered from the mouth of the lion. And the Lord will rescue me from every evil action and bring me safely into His heavenly kingdom. To Him be the glory forever and ever. Amen.”
David’s God is the same God we serve today. The same one who delivered you in the past. Pray that He will arise again and deliver you from any Philistine who is trying to interfere in your life. 1 Samuel 17:37 “David added, "The LORD, who delivered me from the claws of the lion and of the bear, will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine." "Go," said Saul, "and may the LORD be with you."
Pray that any evil eye, hand, feet, thought towards you and your household must return back to the place of origin and on the originator. 1 Kings 2:44 “The king also said, "You know in your heart all the evil that you did to my father David. Therefore, the LORD will bring your evil back upon your head.” Psalm 7:15-16 “He has dug a hole and hollowed it out; he has fallen into a pit of his own making. His trouble recoils on himself, and his violence falls on his own head.” Esther 9:25 “But when it came before the king, he commanded by letter that the wicked scheme which Haman had devised against the Jews should come back on his own head, and that he and his sons should be hanged on the gallows.”
The word of the Lord says NOW GO AND STRIKE AMALEK. Arise therefore and call a strike on any power, man, object, principality standing and opposing your journey. 1 Samuel 15:2-3 “Thus says the Lord of hosts, ‘I have noted what Amalek did to Israel in opposing them on the way when they came up out of Egypt. Now go and strike Amalek and devote to destruction all that they have. Do not spare them, but kill both man and woman, child and infant, ox and sheep, camel and donkey.”
Stretch forth your hand and stand upon the anointing that was upon Moses and ask the Lord send forth thunder hailstone, lighting upon any power of the earth that is holding you captive or anything that belongs to you. Exodus 9:23 “So Moses stretched out his staff toward heaven, and the LORD sent thunder and hail, and lightning struck the earth. So the LORD rained hail upon the land of Egypt.”
Any King Uzziah standing in the way of your breakthrough, declare them death. Isaiah 6:1 “In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple.”
Stand on this Word of God and call forth the fire of God against any weapon the enemy is trying to use against you. It cannot stand according to God’s word. Isaiah 54:17 “No weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed, and you shall confute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their vindication from me, declares the Lord.”
Ask the Lord to arise and stretch His hand against the wrath of your enemies. Psalm 138:7 “Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life; you stretch out your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and your right hand delivers me.”
