Day 3: Worship and Praise Your Way to Victory

Many Christians have left out the praise and worship way into victory, yet this is one powerful way of defeating the enemy. Most people will say, “I have prayed and prayed but no results.” And if you ask what else, the answer is always a straight face. If we are following the foundations laid by the Apostles, we can confirm here (Acts 16:25-26), that singing/praising God is another way of prayer. We see this a lot in the book of Psalms. Every day should be a day of praise, thanksgiving, and worship of the King of Glory who has kept us. We are alive because he is seated on His throne. He never sleeps; He is watching over us.

WE ALL OWE HIM WORSHIP, PRAISE, AND THANKSGIVING -  NOT ONLY BECAUSE WE HAVE A PROBLEM THAT WE ARE BELIEVING HIM TO SOLVE, BUT BECAUSE HE IS OUR GOD. Psalm 146:1-2 “Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord, O my soul! I will praise the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being.” This psalmist was a prayer warrior. He knew that there were times when singing, dancing and worshiping God  in songs was the right alternative

Prayer Points

  • This is an invitation to come before the Lord. Psalm 95: 1-6 “Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song. For the Lord is the great God, the great King above all gods. In his hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to him. The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land. Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.”

  • Even when you have prayed all you can, there is that time when you just spread your hands to the heaven and worship God like Solomon: 1 Kings 8:54 “And it was so, that when Solomon had made an end of praying all this prayer and supplication unto the LORD, he arose from before the altar of the LORD, from kneeling on his knees with his hands spread up to heaven.”

  • Are your problems weighing you down and you cannot pray? Come, before the Lord and lift up your hands and worship him: Do you have a burden? Ezra 9:5 “And at the evening sacrifice I arose up from my heaviness; and having rent my garment and my mantle, I fell upon my knees, and spread out my hands unto the LORD my God.”

  • There is absolutely no barrier to worshiping God. In every circumstance of life, there is a grace that enables us to arise and worship the Lord: 2 Samuel 12:19-20 ”When David saw that his servants were whispering to one another, he perceived that the child was dead. So he asked his servants, “Is the child dead?” “He is dead,” they replied. Then David got up from the ground, washed and anointed himself, changed his clothes, and went into the house of the LORD and worshiped. Then he went to his own house, and at his request they set food before him, and he ate.”

  • Ask the Lord to grant you the kind of grace to worship that Job had in the midst of his storm: Job 1: 19-21 “when suddenly a mighty wind swept in from the desert and struck the four corners of the house. It collapsed on the young people and they are dead, and I alone have escaped to tell you!”Then Job stood up, tore his robe, and shaved his head. He fell to the ground and worshiped, saying: “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will return. The LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away. Blessed be the name of the LORD.”
