Day 7: A House of Prayer not Den of Robbers
We are the church, God’s temple, according to 1 Corinthians 6:19: “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own.”
We were brought with a price. Therefore, whatever we do with our bodies matters to God. It is what we have in us as a temple that comes out when we gather in a physical location as God’s people or the church. The buying, selling, money changers and selling of doves all embodies the different activities that are carried out not permitted by God. The gospel is for sale today. We have all kinds of things going on. Sale of all kinds of spiritual things: water, oils, sowing seeds, deception of people through manipulation of scriptures and false doctrine and prophecies etc. Yet, the house of God has to be governed by prayer and of course and the word of God. The prayer offered in the temple has the power to open blind and cause the lame to walk. Those with spiritual limitations- blindness and lame-inability to walk in the spirit of truth are supposed to have their eyes open and strengthened by the power of prayer and the word of God when they come to church.
When God looks at us or the gathering at the physical place called church, what does he see? Pray for acknowledgment of our guilt , sin and repentance. Ask God to forgive his church/temple.
Ask that God will forgive the ministers of the gospel, especially those who have wondered off the truth. Pray that the Holy Spirit will convict ministers/ the church of sin and help the people come to a place of true repentance.
Pray for the cleansing of the church by the blood of the Lamb.
Pray that the fire of God will descend upon all these falsehood; money changers, those selling dove, those manipulating the people for the purposes of exploiting and enslavement.
2 Corinthians 6:16 “What agreement can exist between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: "I will dwell with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be My people."
As a church/temple representative, renounce every idolatry practices that been allowed to dwell in the church. Come acknowledgment of this kind of sin. Ask God for forgiveness. Our temples are created to carry the glory of God and manifest his power on the earth so that ordinary people may see and join the fellowship.
God that the will raise Godly men and women ministers with integrity to walk in respect, obedience of his word.
Pray for the remnants, those who have not sacrificed their temples. Pray Isaiah 51:16 “And I have put my words in your mouth and covered you in the shadow of my hand, establishing the heavens and laying the foundations of the earth, and saying to Zion, ‘You are my people.”
Isaiah 11:11 “In that day the Lord will extend his hand yet a second time to recover the remnant that remains of his people, from Assyria, from Egypt, from Pathros, from Cush, from Elam, from Shinar, from Hamath, and from the coastlands of the sea.”
Pray that God will deliver his remnant , put his word and establish his house again as a place of prayer.
Colossians 2:8 “See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ.”
Pray that the eyes of the church be open so that no one will take us captive by false philosophy and deceit.
Joel 2:32 “And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be those who escape, as the Lord has said, and among the survivors shall be those whom the Lord calls.”
Only God can save us. Let us call upon God to redeem his people from this calamity of falsehood.
Acts 10:38 “how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him.”
Mathew 9:35 “And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.”
Pray that the church will activate the anointing within them to preach the gospel, heal the sick, cast our demons, feeding the poor, taking care of orphans and window according to the word of God.
Acts 2:22 “Men of Israel, listen to this message: Jesus of Nazareth was a man certified by God to you by miracles, wonders, and signs, which God did among you through Him, as you yourselves know.”
Romans 8:11 “And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.”
If Jesus was certified by God and that same Spirit is with us, then the Spirit of God within the church is able to give us life again. Pray that that we will be revived in the place of prayer and the word.
1 Peter 2:9 “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light”
Pray that the church will arise to its identity and proclaim the excellencies of God.
Mark 11:24 “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” Ephesians 6:18 “Praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints.”
God is always ready to hear us. Ask for help. Ask God for the grace to pray. To take over the occupied territories in the church. We must embark on serious, all the time, all kinds of prayers with fervency, and by force.
Acts 2:42 “And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.”
Pray that prayer altars in the church will come alive. Declare the resurrection power over the church. call froth every Lazarus out of the grave.
Acts 12:5 “So Peter was kept in prison, but earnest prayer for him was made to God by the church.”
Psalm 34:17 “When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles.”
Pray that the church will rise up and pray earnestly like the apostles of old. Only prayer with the word has power to deliver those in prison. The church must recognize this weapon in their hands.
Acts 4:31 “And when they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God with boldness.”
The apostles were on unshakable, unstoppable, bold and on fire for God always because they did not take prayer for granted. The Lord told them to go wait and they waited in fervent prayers to the point where the place was shaken. Pray that the church will catch this revelation and fire.
Luke 6:12 “In these days he went out to the mountain to pray, and all night he continued in prayer to God.”
Luke 11:1 “Now Jesus was praying in a certain place, and when he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, as John taught his disciples.”
Even Jesus our role model prayed and the disciples saw the way he did it and were not embarrassed to ask him to teach them. Pray has to be taught. Pray that the church will catch this revelation and work with the Holy Spirit to teach the ministry of prayer.
