Day 15: Waiting on God for a Partner

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
— Jeremiah 29:11
He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord.
— Proverbs 18:22
Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous.
— Hebrews 13:4
Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.
— 1 Timothy 4:12
Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you,
— 1 Peter 5:6

Every good project starts with good planning. God is a master planner, and even his word says before he formed us, he knew us (Jeremiah 1:5). It is interesting to see how God’s plan has been put in place in his word. Jeremiah 29:11 tells us he has a plan. God cannot lie; whatever he says, we must believe it. For those waiting on God for a partner, God already has a plan. We just need to be able to descend that plan and walk into it by faith. Sometimes it can be difficult to understand directly from the Lord. That is why we must always rely on the Holy Spirit. Marriage is a good thing that God ordained, and the expectation is that it be carried out in a good way as well. God’s word has laid the pattern for every marriage, and if this is carefully followed, surprises will be avoided.

Proverb 18:22 “He who finds a wife……. A man has to go look for his wife. A man is expected to have been transformed into a husband at the time he is looking for the wife, who is also supposed to have been transformed into a wife. It is not a boyfriend-girlfriend matter. This means both of them must have been at God’s quarry site (His presence/word/prayer) and been molded into wife and husband, for God is the porter, and he understands which two will match. God is the potter, and we are the clay (Isaiah 64:8). When God molds a man into a husband and sees that he is ready for marriage, he broadens his spiritual vision so that he is able to look and find his wife who has also been molded into a wife. The Lord then directs the steps of the husband to meet the wife accordingly to Psalm 37:23 “The steps of a man are ordered by the LORD who takes delight in his journey.”

  1. Ask the Lord to forgive and have mercy upon any generational sin that may have any impact: Numbers 14:18 “The Lord is long-suffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the sons to the third and fourth generation.”

  2. Pray that God will open the eyes of those waiting for Godly partners so they can see God’s perfect plan: Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

  3. Pray that God will arise and frustrate every plan or counsel of man/evil that wants to stand against the plan of God: Job 5:12 “He frustrates the plotting of the shrewd so that their hands cannot attain success."

  4. Pray that as they wait, they will display good moral Christian character in every aspect of life, wait in humility and God’s timing: 1 Peter 5:6 “Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you.” 1 Timothy 4:12 Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.

  5. Pray that God will order the steps of every husband  prepared for marriage to meet the wife in due season with delay:  Proverbs 18:22 “He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord.”

  6. Pray that as they wait, they will pursue God’s righteousness so that their marriage will not be defiled and will bring honor and glory to the Lord: 2 Timothy 2:22 “So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.” Hebrews 13:4 “ Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous.”

  7. God’s will for us is to be holy as He is holy. There are certain things permitted only in marriage, such as sex. God is calling everyone waiting for a godly relationship to walk in purity and be abstinent from sexual relationships before marriage. Pray for divine help from above1 Corinthians 6:18-20 “ Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body”.

  8. Pray that none of those waiting will get entangled in any form of these kinds of relationships. This is not only about someone who goes to church. Pray that the only Holy Spirit will grant revelation knowledge so they can see clearly who these partners are spiritual2 Corinthians 6:14 “Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?”

  9. Pray that they will understand this verse and will so present their bodies on the wedding day as sacrifices unto the Lord that is living,  holy and so that God will accept them as they come to him: Romans 12:1 “I appeal to you, therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.”

  10. Pray for patience in waiting on God's perfect timing to avoid any form of regrettable errors: Song of Solomon 2:7 “I adjure you, O daughters of Jerusalem, by the gazelles or the does of the field, that you not stir up or awaken love until it pleases. Psalm 27:14 “Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!”

  11. Ask the Lord to renew strength in the place of waiting: Isaiah 40:31 “But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”

  12. Ask that God will arise and release the husbands and wives for those who have been waiting at the place of prayer: Isaiah 34:16 “Seek and read from the book of the Lord: Not one of these shall be missing; none shall be without her mate. For the mouth of the Lord has commanded, and his Spirit has gathered them.

  13. Pray that those who have been waiting and sowing holiness and prayer will not miss their divine harvesting time: Genesis 8:22 “As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer, and winter, day and night will never cease.”

  14. Pray that the fire of God will visit the foundation of families on the mother and father's side and destroy anything that has been standing against the ability to get married: Amos 1:10 "But I will send fire on the wall of Tyrus, which shall devour the palaces thereof."

  15. Any foundation from her past/past that wants to decide on marriages let the Lord send his word (fire)to break it down. The only foundation that should stand and make a decision or speak is Jesus. Jeremiah 23:29 "Is not my word like fire," declares the LORD, "and like a hammer that breaks a rock in pieces?1Corinthians 3:12 “For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ."

  16. Pray that the fire of God will descend upon any person born by a woman, anything, any power, any spirit, demon, whatever name or kingdom they represent, that has said these ones will not marry: Psalm 97:3 "Fire goes before Him and burns up His adversaries round about " Isaiah 9:19 " By the fury of the Lord of hosts the land is burned, And the people are like fuel for the fire; no man spares his brother."

Day 14: Just One at the Gate

The people of the land have practiced extortion and committed robbery. They have oppressed the poor and needy and have exploited the foreign resident without justice. I searched for a man among them to repair the wall and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, so that I should not destroy it. But I found no one. So I have poured out My indignation upon them and consumed them with the fire of My fury. I have brought their ways down upon their own heads, declares the Lord GOD
— Ezekiel 22: 29-31
I have seen these people,” the LORD said to Moses, “and they are a stiff-necked people. Now leave me alone so that my anger may burn against them and that I may destroy them. Then I will make you into a great nation.” But Moses sought the favor of the LORD his God. “LORD,” he said, “why should your anger burn against your people, whom you brought out of Egypt with great power and a mighty hand? Why should the Egyptians say, ‘It was with evil intent that he brought them out, to kill them in the mountains and to wipe them off the face of the earth’? Turn from your fierce anger; relent and do not bring disaster on your people. Remember your servants Abraham, Isaac and Israel, to whom you swore by your own self: ‘I will make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and I will give your descendants all this land I promised them, and it will be their inheritance forever.’ ” Then the LORD relented and did not bring on his people the disaster he had threatened.
— Exodus 32:9-14

Being the first born child of a family of six, everyone depends on me to take the lead and provide guidance. It is a humbling experience each time my siblings ask my opinion over a matter.  I feel like I am indirectly carrying the burden of my family. I think about how I will be affected by their failures or how my own failures can affect them. I strive to keep the family together. I pray for the purposes of God for their lives. I think about how I will feel if they hurt me. Being an intercessor is very different from a family responsibility to some degree, although in some respects it is related.

“It can never be about you or your feelings. One must come to the place where the heart is totally submitted to the Lord. An intercessor is the connecting gate between God and the people one is interceding for.

Standing before God and pleading the case of someone is one of the greatest privileges in my life. This ministry of intercession comes with so much humility, joy, peace, strength, and determination even in the midst of counter attacks. The grace that God pours is able to stain you throughout, and you find yourself more zealous than ever before to see what God will do in the situation.

Ezekiel 22:30 “I looked for someone among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found no one.”

According to Ezekiel 22:30, God’s business never comes to an end. He is still looking for people to recruit, and the pre-qualifications is only being a born again believer who reference God. God is looking for a man/women, child in that family, church, city, community, state, nation to partner with and release his people from burden, his anointing in the church, his mercy for a nation. God is not looking from afar.

God is looking for partners in the office of intercession within the church who will say yes, and stand at the gate of the church, city, family, nation, etc

The walls of the church are broken. down, the enemy is encroaching the church like never before. In the days of Moses, he answered the call and worked for the lord.

1.     The first prayer point is to ask God for forgiveness if you have been praying for yourself all the time. Daniel 9:9 “The Lord our God is merciful and forgiving, even though we have rebelled against him.”

2.     Pray that Believers will answer the call of an intercessor: Isaiah 59:16 “And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him.”

3.     Pray that the Love for the father will consume the hearts of any new intercessor and those who are old: John 3:16 “ For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

4.     Pray for the grace that comes with this office to fall upon every intercessor: 2 Corinthians 12:9  “9  But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.”

5.     Pray for the grace to descend the season: It is time for worship or wage war against the enemy: 1 Chronicles 12:32 “ from Issachar, men who understood the times and knew what Israel should do—200 chiefs, with all their relatives under their command.”

6.     Pray that any Vashti blocking spirit blocking the road for an Esther must be removed by the mighty hand of God: Esther 1:12 “But the queen Vashti refused to come at the king's commandment by his chamberlains: therefore was the king very wroth, and his anger burned in him.” Esther 4: 15- 16” 15Then Esther sent this reply to Mordecai: 16“Go and assemble all the Jews who can be found in Susa, and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day, and I and my maidens will fast as you do. After that, I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish!”

7.     Pray for a devoted spirit for any one called an intercessor: Colossians 3:23 “ Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters”

8.     Pray that God will raise intercessors with a heart of compassion, kindness and humility: Colossians 3:12 “Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.

9.     Pray that intercessors will be devoted to the word and presence of God: Joshua 1:8  “ Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.”

10.  Pray that God will raise intercessors with the heart of Abraham, Moses, Samuel,  Paul, Simeon etc, righteous and devoted, filled with the Holy Spirit:  Luke 2:25”25 Now there was a man in Jerusalem called Simeon, who was righteous and devout. He was waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was on him.

11.  Pray that every intercessor will be filled with knowledge, wisdom and understanding of the things of God, which bring revelation, so they will pray according to that revelation: Colossians 1:9 “For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding”

12.  Pray that intercessors will raise up and ask the Lord for the mantle of this great woman of God. So that they can serve God in the place of prayer: Luke 2:37-38 “37and then was a widow to the age of eighty-four. She never left the temple, but worshiped night and day, fasting and praying. 38 Coming forward at that moment, she gave thanks to God and spoke about the Child to all who were waiting for the redemption of Jerusalem.

13.  Pray that God will pour upon his church even in this season the grace of intercession: Zechariah 12:10 “And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit[a] of grace and supplication. They will look on[b] me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son.”
