Day 7: Maintaining the Oil for the Race

But the anointing that you received from him abides in you, and you have no need that anyone should teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about everything, and is true, and is no lie—just as it has taught you, abide in him.
— 1 John 2:27

But the anointing we have received- as children of God, we have already received an anointing that dwells within us and teaches us what is needed for a Godly life. This anointing does not come from a man; thus, we should guard against being deceived. However, this does not also imply we cannot be taught or guided by someone.

Pray that no one will deceive you in your quest for spiritual knowledge.

With this anointing within us, we are expected to know the truth. Thus, maintaining it also requires maintaining the true word of God.

John 8:38: “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” If we know the truth, we will not be deceived by false prophets and teachers. 2 Corinthians 11:13-15

“13 For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. 14 And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. 15 So it is no surprise if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds.”

To maintain the oil, we must have the true word of God in us. Pray that the truth of God’s word will dwell in us so that we are not deceived by any false words or promises.

Colossians 2:8: “See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ.”

We have received the anointing via the Spirit of the Lord, therefore to maintain the oil, we must allow the Holy Spirit to be our guide.

Zechariah 4:6: “Then he said to me, “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of hosts.” We cannot do anything by our own standards.

Isaiah 61:1: “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound.”

To maintain the oil, we must abide by the source of the oil- the true vine.

John 15:4-9 “4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. 5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you[a] will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. 8 By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.”

Pray that the grace to abide in the true vine will rest on us for that is the way to continually flow in the oil.

Leviticus 6:12: “The fire on the altar must be kept burning; it must not go out. Every morning the priest is to add firewood and arrange the burnt offering on the fire and burn the fat of the fellowship offerings on it.”

To maintain the oil, there must be continuous fellowship, surrender, commitment, total dying to self, total following, and sacrifice; we are his temple, dwelling in his presence. Giving no gap for the enemy to infiltrate our lives.

Pray that God will help us.

1 Samuel 10:1: “Then Samuel took a flask of oil and poured it on his head and kissed him and said, “Has not the Lord anointed you to be prince over his people Israel? And you shall reign over the people of the Lord and you will save them from the hand of their surrounding enemies. And this shall be the sign to you that the Lord has anointed you to be prince over his heritage.”

If God has anointed us, therefore, we are answerable to him alone, not to those we serve, as they can easily make one upset. Therefore, we are careful not to become upset and commit sin. To maintain the oil, we must get rid of sin as quickly as possible. We cannot leave in assumption. 1 John 1:8-10 “8 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar, and his word is not in us.”

Ask God for forgiveness of any sin that is dwelling within you.

Colossians 1:15-20: “15 The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. 17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. 19 For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.”

To maintain the oil, we must be rooted in the revelation knowledge of who God is. He has revealed himself through his son. Pray for a desire to know him more and be rooted in him daily.

Colossians 3:17: “And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”

We must not forget to thank the God of our salvation. There is nothing really better than a heart filled with gratitude.

Day 6: A Vessel of Honor

“20 Now in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver but also of wood and clay, some for honorable use, some for dishonorable 21 Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.”
— 2 Timothy 2:20-21

God desires to use a man. Actually, he is always looking for a man. however, He has a criteria for selecting the kind he wants. The servants of God listed here have been hand-picked by God; we must, therefore, pray for them that they will continue to maintain the satisfaction and standards of how they were chosen.

Isaiah 42:6- 9: “This is what God the Lord says—the Creator of the heavens, who stretches them out, who spreads out the earth with all that springs from it, who gives breath to its people, and life to those who walk on it: 6 I, the Lord, have called you in righteousness; I will take hold of your hand. I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people and a light for the Gentiles, 7 to open eyes that are blind, to free captives from prison and to release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness. 8 I am the Lord; that is my name! I will not yield my glory to another or my praise to idols. 9 See, the former things have taken place, and new things I declare; before they spring into being I announce them to you.”

We are praying that the creator of heaven and earth will cause these servants to walk in righteousness.

Pray that God will take hold of their hands and make them a covenant of light to his people for the work he has called them into- open the eyes of the blind- blindness to the word of God, freedom for the captives, declaring salvation to the lost, healing the sick, etc.

2 Timothy 3:16: “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,”

Pray that the word of God will always be their only reference as what it can do is revealed in Hebrew 4:12 “For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”

John 14:26 “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.”

Pray for a total dependence and seeking help from the Holy Spirit.

James 1:21 “Therefore put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.”

Pray for them that they will put away every soiled garment but will open those hearts to receive the word of God, which has the power to transform them in order that they will transform the sheep they have been put In charge of.

Deuteronomy 6:6-7 “And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.”

Pray that the word of God shall never lack in the heart of these servants so that they are able to teach with diligence to those entrusted in their hands.

Job 23:12 “I have not departed from the commands of his lips; I have treasured the words of his mouth more than my daily bread.

Psalm 119:11 “I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.”

The word of God is a secure place of safety against sin. Sin is very cancerous and can really destroy destinies and purposes. Pray that these servants will make the word a priority.

Psalm 26:8: “LORD, I love the house where you live, the place where your glory dwells.”

They must love dwelling in the presence of God because that is where his glory dwells. Pray for a desire to earnestly seek God

Psalm 63:1-2 “1 You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water. 2 I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory”

The presence of God is a place of revelation, a place where he releases blessings.

Psalm 132:13-16 “13 For the Lord has chosen Zion, he has desired it for his dwelling, saying, 14 This is my resting place forever and ever; here I will sit enthroned, for I have desired it. 15 I will bless her with abundant provisions; her poor I will satisfy with food. 16 I will clothe her priests with salvation, and her faithful people will ever sing for joy.”

The presence of God is a place of protection from the enemy. Psalm 32:7: “You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.”

Isaiah 54:17: “No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and this is their vindication from me,” declares the LORD.”

Pray that because they dwell in the presence of God, no weapon of the enemy against them shall stand. God will hide them according to Psalm 31:20: “You hide them in the secret place of Your presence from the schemes of men. You conceal them in Your shelter from accusing tongues.”

Genesis 18:16-17, 19 “16 After this, the men set out from there and looked out over Sodom. Abraham went with them to send them off. 17 “Should I hide from Abraham what I’m about to do,” the Lord asked, 19 Indeed, I’ve made myself known to him in order that he may encourage his sons and the household that is born after him to keep the way of the Lord, and to do what is right and just, so that the Lord may bring about for Abraham what he has promised.”

When on dwell in his presence, God reveals his plans, his intents for the church. This is very important so the servants of God are able to communicate with the sheep. Pray that God will make himself known to these servants so that they may encourage the sheep to keep the way of the Lord.

Day 5: Availability, Obedience, and Access

“Some time later God tested Abraham. He said to him, “Abraham!” “Here I am,” he replied. 2 Then God said, “Take your son, your only son, whom you love—Isaac—and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on a mountain I will show you.”
— Genesis 22: 1-2

How would you feel when you call someone and they don’t answer or take their time? We have all been called into the kingdom of God. We all have an assignment, but we can be a hindrance to our spiritual assignment. We must be available for the master’s use at all times. When God wanted to test Abraham, he was readily available to answer his name. He knew God was the one calling his name and asking him to offer his only child.

He answered “I am here”- ready to yield, humble, obey, it was a priority, God was first place, ready and willing to serve. We see the same in the call of many generals in the Bible Jacob ( Genesis 31:11), Moses ( Exodus 3:4), Samuel ( I Samuel 3:4), Mary ( Luke 1:38)

Pray for the grace to make yourself humble, ready and available, for whatever God is calling you in this season to do.

Abraham heard God and was ready to sacrifice his only son. This can be the most difficult thing to offer to God, but pray for the grace to hear God and sacrifice your Isaac- whatever that may be.

Abraham trusted and obeyed God. He had faith in the God he trusted even if he did not understand. Hebrew 11:6 “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him”

Pray for the grace to trust God, obey him and walk in the faith of Abraham-

In every call there is a purpose according to Romans 8:28 “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

Pray for a clarity of understanding the purpose of your existence and call in the season, so you don’t miss it.

To walk in the purposes of God we must love the lord with everything inside of us.

Luke 10:27 “And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.”

Pray for the the grace to love God according to his word.

Ephesians 3:16-19 “16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.”

If you walk in obedience, trust, and humility, as well as avail yourself, it will be easy to access the throne room of the Father and receive the spiritual power needed for every Godly assignment. Acts 1:8 “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

Pray for the grace to access this spiritual anointing as we wait on God.

Paul prayed for the church in Ephesus. Take each step and pray it into your life.

Luke 1:38 “And Mary said, “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.”

Pray that in this season, this will be your declaration.

Day 4: Spiritual Battle Strategy

“to open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those sanctified by faith in Me.”
— Acts 26:18

We have been called, anointed, and sent to accomplish Acts 26:18. However, we also know that according to 1 John 5:19 “We know that we are from God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one”, Satan will not allow us to get an easy pass. The good news is found in Exodus 15:3 “The Lord is a man of war; the Lord is his name.”and Psalm 144:1 “Blessed be the Lord, my rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle.”

If we belong to God, then we are in battle with Satan but the good news is in 1 Corinthians 15:57 “But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Satan is always on the move looking for those he can distract, steal, destroy, kill (John 10:10). Job 2:2 “And the LORD said unto Satan, From whence comest thou? And Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.” Satan is at work 24/7, thus we must be at work more than that. Thus we must have a spiritual strategy to face him daily. This has been outlined in the book of Ephesians.

Ephesians 6: 10-18 “10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.”

Take each of these strategies allowed verse by verse and pray asking for help from the Holy Spirit who knows the mind of the Father. This year 2024, we must face every battle with wisdom, knowledge, and understanding which comes only from the Lord.

Day 3: I Surrender

“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”
— Galatians 2: 20

One can never understand the concept of surrender if death has not taken place. When we are able to understand that life in Christ is the one in which “ I NO LONGER LIVE BUT CHRIST LIVES IN ME.” This means everything. Mathew 26:39 “Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.”

A surrendered life goes with the will of God and therefore does not have a self-will. Pray for the grace to surrender it all dying to self every day.

John 4:23-24 “23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”

A Surrendered life has a spiritual understanding of John 4:23-24 and therefore strives to worship God to standard. Therefore communication with God has no issues. Pray that the spirit of God will help us get to this place.

Romans 12: 1-2 “1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing, and perfect will.”

A surrendered life is an offering to God daily, it’s been made holy, accepted, and able to flow in worship as God wants. Therefore, this life is able to conform to Godly principles as approved by God’s will. Pray for such a life that God will accept during our interaction with him. If one cannot connect with God, the relationship becomes a problem leading to spiritual frustration.

1 Corinthians 6: 19-20 “19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.”

A surrendered life understands that it’s the temple of God therefore, it’s guarded with diligence. Pray that God will grant you access to this revaluation so that you will hand over to God who dwells within.

Luke 9:23-24 “23 Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. 24 For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it.”

A surrendered life must go through these stages of denying self, carry the cross, and follow daily. There is no compromise nor negotiation at any stage. Pray for the grace to enable you go through these stages wholly without reservations.

Philippians 2:5-8 “5 In your relationships with one another have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; 7 rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross.”

A surrendered life is gentle, meek, and humble. Pray for this grace. Be like Jesus.

John 15: 1-7 “1 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. 3 You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. 4 Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. 5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.”

A surrendered life understands the source of every that patterns to growth and Godliness. Pray for this grace.


Galatians 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.’

A surrendered life walks only by faith. Pray for this kind of grace.

Day 2: Remember me Oh Lord

“15 Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you!
16 See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me.”
— Isaiah 49:15-16

We are engraved in God’s palms. What a place to be. This means God cannot forget us. He takes notice of us always. Jeremiah 15:15 “You understand, O LORD; remember me and attend to me. Avenge me against my persecutors. In Your patience, do not take me away. Know that I endure reproach for Your honor.”

As humans we like attention, always wanting to have a name, title, money, new house, and marriage or the birth of a child. When people do not remember to recognize these in us it becomes a problem. God on the other hand will remember that his word cannot fall on bear ground. One of the main things this year will be to ask the Lord to remember us and bring his promises to pass.

  • Pray that matters concerning us will always be before God all the time.

  • Pray that God will not only remember us but will also deliver us from our enemies.

  • Deuteronomy 6: 12 “Then take care lest you forget the Lord, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.” Pray that God will help us not to forget him.

  • Genesis 8:1 “But God remembered Noah and all the beasts and all the livestock that were with him in the ark. And God made a wind blow over the earth, and the waters subsided.” Pray that God will remember you and cause that every troubling waters subside in Jesus name.

  • Psalm 106:4 “Remember me, LORD, when you show favor to your people, come to my aid when you save them,” Pray that as the Lord distributes favor, let him remember us.

  • Hebrews 12:2 “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Pray that God will help us to fix our eyes upon Jesus and nothing else.

  • 2 Timothy2:8 “ Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, descended from David. This is my gospel.” Finally, the gospel must be preached. Pray for the grace to preach the word of God.

Day 1: The Lord is my Helper

“Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen. He named it Ebenezer, saying, “Thus far the LORD has helped us.”
— 1Samuel 7: 12

The hand of the Lord was against the Philistines and in favor of the Israelites and gave them victory over their enemies. The Israelites came to this place where they decided to declare that God had helped them. This same God had been there before now and had always helped them. Sometimes it takes a revelation to come to terms with life events. I am not sure what 2023 was like to some of you, but we all made it into 2024. It is time to let go 2023 and begin to thank God for helping you thus far. He who brought you here will carry you through in Jesus might name.

For us to accomplish anything this year, we must rely only on one source of help- God.

John 14:16 &26 “16And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever. 26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.”

Pray that we will allow and seek help from the ministry of the Holy Spirit who is the ordained helper from heaven.

Hebrew 4:16 “Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

Pray for the grace to draw closer to God’s throne room in confidence knowing that there is abundance of all graces waiting for us.

Psalm 121:1-2 “1 I lift up my eyes to the mountains. where does my help come from? 2 My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.”

Pray for the grace to trust God enough to obtain help from him.


Acts: 26:22 “Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come.”

We CANNOT achieve any spiritual work without God helping us. Let us ask God to help us this year with everything that he has entrusted in our hands.

Isaiah 41:10 “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

God has not given us the spirit of fear(2Timothy 1:7), thus we will face the challenges of 2024 without fear. Pray for strength, pray that God will uphold you with his righteous right hand through every step in 2024.

Proverbs 3:5-6 “5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. 6 In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”

Pray that we will not depend on anything about us but solely on the Lord who has all the knowledge, wisdom, and understanding of everything.

2 Chronicles 14:11 “And Asa cried to the Lord his God, “O Lord, there is none like you to help, between the mighty and the weak. Help us, O Lord our God, for we rely on you, and in your name we have come against this multitude. O Lord, you are our God; let not man prevail against you.”

Pray that for every battle we will cry onto the Lord and rely on him alone for victory.

2 Corinthians 9:8 “And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work.”

Pray with thanksgiving to God that every grace needed for every assignment has been made available. There will therefore be no struggle when we rely on God for help.
