Day 14: Thanking Our Faithful God

“1 Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. 2 Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song. 3For the LORD is the great God, the great King above all gods.”
— Psalms 95:1-3
“The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him.
— Psalm 28:7

Thank the Lord who has given us the strength to wait on him over the past 14 days. Thank him for encouraging us to trust him, shielding us from the enemy, and helping us to pray/fast.

Jude 1:3 “Dear friends, although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share, I felt compelled to write and urge you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to God’s holy people.”

The theme for our prayer day this year was taken from Jude 1:3. Let us thank God for all the things he placed in us to contend for in his season and the grace he gave to be available to pray.

Colossians 4:2 “Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful." 1 Corinthians 1:4 “I always thank my God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus."

We have devoted ourselves to prayer only by his grace, so let us thank God for the grace granted onto us during these past 14 days.

Philippians 4:6-7 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Psalm 65:2 “You who answer prayer, to you all people will come.”

We have presented our request before God. Let us thank God for his peace upon our lives as we wait to see all our prayers answered because he is a prayer answering God.

Deuteronomy 9:3 “But be assured today that the Lord your God is the one who goes across ahead of you like a devouring fire. He will destroy them; he will subdue them before you. And you will drive them out and annihilate them quickly, as the Lord has promised you.”

Thank God for going ahead of us as a devouring fire on this great day of prayer for his bride. Thank him for destroying every obstacle both spiritually and physically.

Exodus 33:13-14 “13 If you are pleased with me, teach me your ways so I may know you and continue to find favor with you. Remember that this nation is your people.” 14 The Lord replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”

Thank the Lord for his favor upon his church and his presence in our midst into the prayer day.

2 Corinthians 2:14 “But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere.”

Let us thank God that we are entering the prayer day in a victorious procession advertising the knowledge of Christ in every step.

Colossians 2:15 “He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him.”

Let us thank God that Jesus while on the cross defeated the devil by disarming rulers and authorities, and publicly shaming the devil. This is our confidence when we engage into any spiritual warfare.

Ephesians 6:12 “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Luke 10:19 “Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you.

Thank God for always preparing us ahead of battles making us understand what the enemy looks like, at the same time giving us assurance through his death on the cross and granting us the authority over every power of the enemy.

Isaiah 55:11 “So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.” Numbers 23:19 “God is not a man, that He should lie, or a son of man, that He should change His mind. Does He speak and not act? Does He promise and not fulfill?

Thank God for every word released during this season of prayers/fasting. None shall return to him without fulfilling its intended purpose. He is not a man to lie. Whatever he says comes to pass.

Hebrew 4:12 “For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”

Thank God for the power of his word. His word is reliable and can be trusted.

Deuteronomy 7:9 “Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations.”

Thank God for his kindness, faithfulness, love, and mercy over our lives and even the generations to come.

Philippians 2:13 “for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.”

Philippians 1:6 “being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

Thank God for whatever work he is doing within us. Thank him for the grace to cooperate with him as we are certain that he will complete his work in us.

Proverbs 10:28 “ The expectations of the righteous result in joy, but the hopes of the wicked will perish.

We have been praying with expectation. Thank God for the results of our prayers. We will not go empty handed for our expectation shall result to joy.

Ephesians 4:16 “From whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.”

Thank God for bringing his church together in unity, in one place, and for one purpose. The prayer day for the church symbolizes what will soon take place as spoken in Revelation 7:9.

Isaiah 10:27 “And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.”

Acts 10:38 says, "How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power. He went about doing good and healing all those oppressed by the devil, for God was with him".

Thank God for releasing his anointing upon his bride on this day of prayer. Thank him for transformation and changing lives.

Revelation 4:11 “Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.”

We must be careful to give Him back all the glory due His only name. No man can take or share his glory.

Day 13: Contending for the End Time Intercessors

“11 I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name, the name you gave me, so that they may be one as we are one. 12 While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by that name you gave me. None has been lost except the one doomed to destruction so that Scripture would be fulfilled.”
— John 17:11-12
“Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.”
— Romans 8:34

We can all testify that the days are becoming more and more darken with wickedness at its peak. Intercessors are needed to seek God’s mercy and grace on behalf of the people.

Jesus in John 17 gives us a picture of what it means; understanding the situation by revelation and carrying the burden by prayers. Even after his resurrection Jesus is still praying for us as we see in Romans 8:34.

Romans 8:11 “And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.”

Pray that the same Spirit of God who raise Jesus from the dead will raise every intercessor who has been dead in the call to pray back to life so they are able to carry the burden of God.

Romans 8:26-27 “26 Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. 27 And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.”

Pray for help and reliance on the Holy Spirit. No body can pray genuinely by themselves without the help from the Holy Spirit.

Genesis 18:22-25 “22 The men turned away and went toward Sodom, but Abraham remained standing before the LORD. 23 Then Abraham approached him and said: “Will you sweep away the righteous with the wicked? 24 What if there are fifty righteous people in the city? Will you really sweep it away and not spare the place for the sake of the fifty righteous people in it? 25 Far be it from you to do such a thing—to kill the righteous with the wicked, treating the righteous and the wicked alike. Far be it from you! Will not the Judge of all the earth do right?”

Abraham stood in the gap for Sodom and Gomorrah when God went in to destroy the Land. An intercessor must be selfless, loving, humbled, bold, kind hearted and ready to take a difficult task and keep standing before God.

Pray that God will raise intercessors like Abraham in these last and dark days.

1 Samuel 12:23 “As for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the LORD by failing to pray for you. And I will teach you the way that is good and right.”

Samuel living in his days where the people had fallen from grace, stood in the gap continuously for God’s mercy, hoping the people will repent. Pray that God will raise intercessors like Samuel who will not get tied of praying.

Ephesians 6:18 “Praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints.”

Intercessors must be sensitive in the spirit and be ready to pray all the time. Pray that the grace of God will be sufficient to this call.

John 14:26 “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.”

Pray for a total dependence and guidance of the Holy Spirit. Pray for a teachable spirit among intercessors.

Isaiah 59:16 “He saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no one to intercede; then his own arm brought him salvation, and his righteousness upheld him.”

Pray that God will not be looking forward r anyone in your community because you are there. Also, ask God to help you be available, dependable, and reliable intercessor.

Ephesians 6:19-2 “19 Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.”

The Apostle Paul as an intercessor himself understood the need for this kind of prayer. In today’s world the word of God has been challenged with all sorts of things. Pray that intercessors will continue to see the need and answer the call to pray for ministers of the gospel so that they are able to communicate fearlessly and with with boldness the mystery of the gospel without sugar coding the word of God.

Job 42:8 “So now take seven bulls and seven rams and go to my servant Job and sacrifice a burnt offering for yourselves. My servant Job will pray for you, and I will accept his prayer and not deal with you according to your folly. You have not spoken the truth about me, as my servant Job has.”

Psalms 122:6-7 “6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May those who love you be secure.7 May there be peace within your walls and security within your citadels.”

Romans 10:1 “Brothers and sisters, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved.”

1 Timothy 2:1-2 “1 I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people 2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.”

Reviewing the different Bible verses above, one can see that Intercessory prayers covers prayers in different sectors; friends, (sometimes even those who have hurt you), families, church, nations, leaders, etc God may be calling intercessors in a single or multiple sectors. Pray that intercessors will open their minds to hid the direction God wants for them in the place of prayer. Pray that they are able to discern, as well as be humbled enough to pray.

Acts 1:8 “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

The Apostles received power to do the work of the ministry when the Holy Spirit came upon them. Pray that every intercessor will be visited by the same power of the Holy Spirit in these last days.

In the next two days; October 26, the church will gather to intercede, pray for the following:

The Holy Spirit will visit us as in the day of Pentecost, pray for Flesh fire upon the gathering.

Unity in God’s presence and prayer

1 Corinthians 1:10 “I appeal to you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment.”

As we pray together, we will bind every spirit that has come against the church and the work of God. We will loose and set free every captive, we will stand in agreement to stand strong and work together as the body of Christ for we know that God is in our mist and will hear us.

Matthew 18:18-20 “18 “Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. 19 “Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”

Pray for mercy and the grace of God to overwhelm the church.

Zachariah 12:10 “ And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication. They will look on me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son.”

Pray that that every dry and thrifty ground in our hearts will be refreshed.

Isaiah 44: 3 “For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and currents on the dry ground. I will pour out My Spirit on your descendants, and My blessing on your offspring.”

Pray for divine visitation and transformation.

Jeremiah 31;9 “They shall come with weeping, and with supplications will I lead them: I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way, wherein they shall not stumble: for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn.”
