Prayer Points
Come to God in humility. 1 Peter 5:6 “Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you.”
Ask God to forgive our pride and arrogance. 1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
Ask God to forgive the church and church leaders in America. Acts 3:19 “Repent, therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out.” Ephesians 4:31-32 “Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.”
Pray for the transition period as the new administration takes over. Daniel 2:21 “He changes times and seasons; he removes kings and sets up kings; he gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding.” Romans 13:2 “Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment.”
Pray that God will arrest the hearts of those encouraging violence and spreading lies. Zechariah 8:17 “Do not devise evil in your hearts against one another, and love no false oath, for all these things I hate, declares the Lord.”
Pray that the authority of Christ will reign and that America will seek God. Matthew 28:18 “And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.” Zephaniah 2:3 “Seek the Lord, all you humble of the land, who do his just commands; seek righteousness; seek humility; perhaps you may be hidden on the day of the anger of the Lord.”
Pray for peace and unity. Matthew 12:25 “Knowing their thoughts, he said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste, and no city or house divided against itself will stand.” Leviticus 26:6 “I will give peace in the land, and you shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid. And I will remove harmful beasts from the land, and the sword shall not go through your land.”
