Day 11: Oh America! Arise and Return to Your Creator

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
— John 14:6

In today’s modern world, the driving guide which people used to print to assist with driving directions has been replaced by modern technology. I find it interesting how mankind is so glued to the eclectics called GPS for directions. Today, the GPS is inbuilt in cars and can also be accessed from most cell phones. It is very rare to find anyone who does not like the GPS or uses it most frequently. It is also interesting to note that when using the GPS, the user strives for accuracy, so he/she does not miss the direction to his/her destination and thus misses scheduled appointments or acquires unnecessary expenses such as booking a new flight ticket or paying for a hotel overnight.

The word of God as stated in John 14:6 “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 1: 1-2  “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning.” has the direction for eternal life, but man finds it so hard to use it. Out of those who try to use the word of God for direction, only a few abide by its rules. Yet, it contains the ONLY way to freedom, fellowship, and a relationship with God the creator of the universe and mankind. Galatians 5:1 “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.” Jesus is the only GPS to eternal life with the Father. There is no other as well said in Acts 4:12 “Salvation exists in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”

The American church who was given the manual of how to operate the GPS (God’s word) has lost its bearing and is headed for the wrong path: Proverbs 14:12There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.” Until America comes to a place where it realizes it has fallen from the right path, it will continue to see itself as pure, yet covered with filth. Proverbs 30:12 “There is a generation that is pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness. America cannot see its filthiness because of two main issues; PRIDE and the brother ARROGANCE.

The church in America to whom the GPS was handed must come to the place of reckoning with truth; John 8:32 “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." This is the only way to return back to the original path. Psalm 119: 159-160 “Consider how I love Your precepts, O LORD; give me life according to Your loving devotion. The entirety of Your word is truth, and all Your righteous judgments endure forever.”

Prayer points

  • Arise and call on the Lord to grant grace for America to return to the ancient path where the good way is:  Jeremiah 6:16  “Thus says the Lord: “Stand by the roads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is; and walk in it, and find rest for your souls. But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.”

  • God is looking today for the Mordecai to answer the call and cry out for the deliverance of this land; burden bearers. So far as there is a Mordecai, God creates a way out. Why not ask God to turn you into one and give you that grace:  Esther 4:1 “When Mordecai learned all that had been done, Mordecai tore his clothes and put on sackcloth and ashes, and went out into the midst of the city, and he cried out with a loud and bitter cry.”

  • Jesus is the only way: Pray that this nation will turn to Jesus: Pray for the salvation of the inhabitants of this nation: John 14:6 “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

  • God is looking for the Daniels who will turn their faces to the walls, pleading the case for mercy  for America: If you are ready, tell the Lord to equip you today with that grace: Daniel 9:3 ”Then I turned my face to the Lord God, seeking him by prayer and pleas for mercy with fasting and sackcloth and ashes.”

  • List all these six points and ask the Lord for mercy over America: “There are six things the LORD hates, seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.” Proverbs 6:16-19

  • Pray that the Lord will direct the hearts of those in power to do what is right beginning from the White House: ”In the Lord’s hand the king’s heart is a stream of water that he channels toward all who please him.” Prov. 21:1

  • Pray for the spiritual guidance upon the leadership of the church in America: “For lack of guidance a nation falls, but victory is won through many advisers.” Proverbs 11:14

  • Pray that America will forsake its sins and turn to God: “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin condemns any people.” Proverbs 14:34

  • Pray for peace and prosperity over this land: ”Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the LORD for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.” Jeremiah 29: 7

Day 10: Ask the Lord for The Nations

Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people he chose for his inheritance.

— Psalm 33:12
For the nation and kingdom that will not serve thee shall perish; yea, those nations shall be utterly wasted.
— Isaiah 60:12
Ask of me, and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession.
— Psalm 2:8

One thing that is of concern among the people of the nations of the earth is the fact that they all must deal with the good, the bad, and the ugly. God is a good God but he is also the judge of the earth. In judging, he displays justice and rewards accordingly. Most often people find it hard to comprehend because they only see or want to remain on the good side. According to Psalm 33:12, a nation who has made God their Lord is blessed and God has made the people of such a nation his inheritance. However, Isaiah 60:12 is the contrary; nations that will not serve God will be wasted and of course, they will not be his inheritance. When nations refuse to serve God, he displays the power of his name through his wrath as stated in Ezekiel 36:23 “I will show the holiness of my great name, which has been profaned among the nations, the name you have profaned among them. Then the nations will know that I am the Lord, declares the Sovereign Lord when I am proved holy through you before their eyes.”

God is not pleased with a sinner. Psalm 5:4 “For you are not a God who is pleased with wickedness; with you, evil people are not welcome”. Psalm 34:16 “But the face of the LORD is against those who do evil, to wipe out all memory of them from the earth.”

Intercessors are called to come in-between the people and God’s wrath, and plead for mercy. Jesus had to come in between God and the sinner so that God would show mercy and deliver man from his wrath. 1 Timothy 1:15 “Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners–of whom I am the worst.”

Moses stood between the Israelites and God to avert the wrath of God. Exodus 32: 9- 11 “The LORD also said to Moses, “I have seen this people, and they are indeed a stiff-necked people. Now leave Me alone, so that My anger may burn against them and consume them. Then I will make you into a great nation.” But Moses sought the favor of the LORD his God, saying, “O LORD, why does Your anger burn against Your people, whom You brought out of the land of Egypt with great power and a mighty hand?”

Today as intercessors, God is calling you and me to stand in between the nations and God and cry out that God will remember to show mercy upon the nations; to cry for the salvation of the nations; to cry for the wicked leaders to open their hearts to Jesus. God delights in the salvation of the nation. He answers prayers. (Psalm 65:2)

Prayer points

  • In life, it can be a challenge to advocate for something or take responsibility for what you don’t own or like. Asking God for the nations, in this case, means you want to take a nation(s) and stand in the gap in prayer; praying for everything the Lord puts in your spirit. Ask God today and pray for his divine intervention: Psalm 2:8 “Ask of me, and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession.”

  • Call on the nations to come to the Lord, the only place of their salvation: Isaiah 45:22 “Turn to me and be saved, all you ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other.”

  • Pray that the Word of the Lord will come to pass before the nations of the earth: Isaiah 45:23 – “By myself I have sworn, my mouth has uttered in all integrity a word that will not be revoked: Before me every knee will bow; by me every tongue will swear.”

  • Pray that the nations of the earth will fear the Lord, serve him only, and walk in holiness:  “Let all the earth fear the Lord; let all the people of the world revere him.” Psalm 33:8. “All kings will bow down to him and all nations will serve him.” Psalm 72:11

  • Pray that all nations of the earth come forth and worship this great God and bring him glory:  “All the nations you have made will come and worship before you, O Lord; they will bring glory to your name.” Psalm 86:9

  • Pray that the nations of the earth will remember their creator and turn to Him in repentance: “All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the LORD, and all the families of the nations will bow down before him.” Psalm 22:27

  • Jesus is the ONLY answer to unrighteousness. We must pray that Jesus be enthroned upon the nations: “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people.” Proverbs 14: 34

  • Call on the Lord to arise in the nations of the earth and execute his justice. There is so much turmoil on the earth; nation against nation; people against people; tribe against tribe; city against city; neighbor against neighbor; there is no peace:  “He will judge between many peoples and will settle disputes for strong nations far and wide. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore.” Micah 4:3

  • Call on the Mighty Man of War, the victorious God who never fails in battles. Call on him to arise in the nations so that wars among men will come to an end. His name must be exalted in the nations: “He makes wars to cease throughout the earth; He breaks the bow and shatters the spear; He burns the shields in the fire. “Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted over the earth.” Psalm 46: 9-10

  • Pray that the Spirit of the Lord will draw the nations to himself and will course them to listen and pay attention to his Word: “Come near, you nations, and listen; pay attention, you peoples! Let the earth hear, and all that is in it, the world, and all that comes out of it!” Isaiah 34:1

  • Pray that God will uproot leaders who stand against his will for the nations: “He changes times and seasons; he removes kings and sets up kings; he gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding.” Daniel 2:21

  • Pray for the leaders of the nations;  that God will arrest their hearts and help them lead according to his Word. Pray that God will raise God-fearing leaders in the nations: “First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way”. 1 Timothy 2:1-2

  • Declare the blessing of the Lord over the nations of the earth:  “May his name endure forever; may it continue as long as the sun. All nations will be blessed through him, and they will call him blessed.” Psalm 72:17

  • Say this: Father, we declare your glory among the nations of the earth;  for all the marvelous things you have done; for delivering the nations; and for hearing our prayers:  “Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples.” 1 Chronicles 16:24
