I find God’s word very amazing in the way it uses simple practical things to express its spiritual significance. My body has so many parts with each having its own function. There is a clear reason why we have what we have. God has made no mistake with his creation. Palms 139:14 “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well”. If God has made me so wonderful what more of his church that he purchased (Galatians 3:13) with the blood of his son. His church is made up of wonderful people like you and me representing the different parts as stated in Romans: 12: 4-5 “For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.
Last two weeks, I felt a pain to my right foot at about 2am that woke me up from sleep. I was so uncomfortable that I had to get off the bed. I started praying against this sudden pain, walking around my bedroom but it was a challenge even to pray and walk. Everything about me was affected. I forced my mouth to pray because the pain was unbearable. I was not able to locate where my anointing oil was, so I began to take the steps heading to the kitchen. I had to hold the walls because I was unable walk well on my right leg, so most of my weight was on my left side. It went on for about two hours before the pain calmed down to the level I could tolerate. My whole body felt this pain even though it started from just one part-my right foot. My whole body was unable to function even after the pain as I laid back in bed exhausted, continued to pray in my spirit and eventually slept off not sure at what time. God put the parts there for its specific purpose else there would be no need of them. Every part has its specific function but they all at the end of the day ensures the entire body feels well and balance.
God has made the church one in Christ according to Romans 12:4-5 but each has a role to play to ensure that God is gloried. Just as I was awake because I felt the pain in my foot and upon awake, I was looking for a solution to the pain, so I prayed and walked around, so is the same way the church is expected to function. Everyone must feel the pain of the other and carry the burden of each other. There must be unity in purpose.
The church is in the season of the revelation of the glory of God in the person of Christ and as intercessors we are called to usher in this glory through our prophetic breakthrough prayers. This means we must remain in the back of the mountain where we are hidden in Christ in the place of prayer until we see this revelation as stated in Isaiah 2:2. In this season, the eyes of the church shall be open unto this revelation and they shall all come to the feast of the Lord.
1. The revelation of Christ will only come through a serious season where the church embarks on teaching of and living by the true word of God: Pray that the church will teach the true gospel of Christ which is the power of God: Deuteronomy 11:18-19 “You shall therefore impress these words of mine on your heart and on your soul; and you shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontals on your forehead. You shall teach them to your sons, talking of them when you sit in your house and when you walk along the road and when you lie down and when you rise up”.
2. Pray that the church will desire to walk in holiness and righteousness: 2 Timothy 1:9 “He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time.”
3. Pray that God will continue to build his church according to wat he wants: Hebrew 3:4 “For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything”.
4. Pray for the revelation of Christ to the church because it is upon the revelation that a building is established. This church is not the physical build but is the person of Christ who represents God’s spiritual kingdom: Mathew 16:18 “And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.”
5. Pray for the spirit of forgiveness. Pray that we will not be going around holding our prayers and that of others, keeping ourselves in bondage because of unforgiveness that we have been carrying for years: Colossians 3:13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.
6. Pray that in this season the eyes of the church will open up so they can see the light and therefore will arise and begin to shine. There is a need for the revelation of the light: Isaiah 60:1-2 “1 Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you. 2For behold, darkness covers the earth, and thick darkness is over the peoples; but the LORD will rise upon you, and His glory will appear over you”
7. Pray for the revelation of the son of God to the church so that there will be the full manifestation of the power of God in the church: Hebrew 1:3 “The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.”
8. Pray for the revelation of God’s word to shine froth against the blinded minds so that they are open to the gospel: 2 Corinthians 4: 4 “The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers so they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God”.
9. Pray for the revelation of God purpose of the church- a house of prayer so the that church can get back to the foundation (which is prayer and the word): Isaiah 56:7 “These I will bring to my holy mountain and give them joy in my house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and sacrifices will be accepted on my altar; for my house will be called a house of prayer for all nations.”
10. Pray for the divine Pentecostal visitation to the church as in the days of old: Acts 1:8 “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
11. Pray that the church will experience a season of complete unity. Jesus was one with his father and there was nothing that was no accomplished: John 17:23 “I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.”
12. Pray that the church will experience a season increase of God’s Word. Acts 6:7 ”And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.”
13. Pray that the church will experience a season where Christ dwells in his church richly: Colossians 3:16 “Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.”
14. Pray that the love of the father and son will consume the heart of the church so that the love for one another may grow, sharing will also increase and we will see one another in his image and walk in one accord as the church of old: Acts 2:46-47 “Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.”
15. Pray that God will strengthen his church and cause them to experience peace, walk in the fear of God and be encouraged by the Holy Spirit: Acts 9:31 “Then the church throughout Judea, Galilee and Samaria enjoyed a time of peace and was strengthened. Living in the fear of the Lord and encouraged by the Holy Spirit, it increased in numbers.”
