Psalms 2: 1 Why do the nations conspire and the peoples plot in vain? 2 The kings of the earth rise up and the rulers band together against the LORD and against his anointed, saying, 3 “Let us break their chains and throw off their shackles.” 4 The One enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord scoffs at them. 5 He rebukes them in his anger and terrifies them in his wrath, saying, 6 “I have installed my king on Zion, my holy mountain.” 7 I will proclaim the LORD’s decree: He said to me, “You are my son; today I have become your father. 8 Ask me, and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession. 9 You will break them with a rod of iron ; you will dash them to pieces like pottery.” 10 Therefore, you kings, be wise; be warned, you rulers of the earth. 11 Serve the LORD with fear and celebrate his rule with trembling. 12 Kiss his son, or he will be angry and your way will lead to your destruction, for his wrath can flare up in a moment. Blessed are all who take refuge in him.”
How will you feel when you find out that those whom you have trusted and loved in life plot evil against you and yet they are laughing with you in your face? Imagine that they take it further and bring you to court over a crime that you have not committed, and together they make a lie look true in everyone’s eyes? They plot this wickedness against you in a court case. Such instances are so real and those involved often care less so far as their ego is satisfied.
Analyzing what is happening in Psalm 2 above; one can see the presentation of the real picture of the way the nations and their leaders relate to God. It is very scary to imagine this evil way of thinking. The nations are colluding together in their wickedness against the God of their creation. They are refusing to acknowledge the Lordship of Jesus Christ on earth- God’s anointed one and son. God is smiling because he knows they are making a fool of themselves. God is standing on his word to declare on the earth that though the nations and their leaders are gathering against me, I the Lord have made Jesus Christ my son the king over the nations and given the nations to him as his possession to rule and judge the nations and their leaders. God has given Jesus Christ the nations as an inheritance as we see in Revelation 11:15 “Then the seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and loud voices called out in heaven: “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ, and He will reign forever and ever.”
Thus if we are for God and standing with Christ, WE MUST STAND in the place of prayer with Christ to take over the nations as our inheritance as well and declare that Jesus must reign on this earth. We MUST pray until the scripture is fulfilled. This is real spiritual battle because satan and his gang wants it too.
1. Pray that as intercessors we will walk in obedience. Abraham walked in obedience and the nations were blessed through him. For God to move through us and hear us so the earth can be delivered, we must be walking in obedience of his word: In Genesis 22:18 – “..and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed me.”
2. The house of God is the place where believers are called to pray and nothing else. As building blocks we must pray without ceasing. There is no short or long break, if the glory of God must be revealed in the nations. Pray that as an intercessor God will make you into a prayer machine for his glory and nothing else: Mark 11:17 “And as He taught them, He said, ‘Is it not written: “My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations“? …'” (Isaiah 56:7)
3. Pray for the revelation of God’s word upon the hearts of the leaders of the earth, that they may come to their senses, fear the Lord and serve him only: Psalm 2: 10-11 “10 Therefore, you kings, be wise; be warned, you rulers of the earth. 11 Serve the LORD with fear and celebrate his rule with trembling.”
4. Declare this word so the devil knows that you know who is in charge of the nations of the earth: 1 Chronicles 29:11 “Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all”
5. Pray against the enemy that stands against this great salvation of the nations: Revelation 12:10 “And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.”
6. Call on the Lord to arise in judgement against the wicked and their wickedness on the earth. There are some people, leaders or whatever you want to call them that need to die for others to gain deliverance. There are some people that will never repent so do not waste prayers and time on them. Those detained for the sword should go. Psalm 7:9 “Put an end to the evil of the wicked, but establish the righteous, O righteous God who searches hearts and minds. Revelation 2:23 “Then I will strike her children dead, and all the churches will know that I am the One who searches minds and hearts, and I will repay each of you according to your deeds.
7. Pray for this God’s word to be made manifest upon the earth so that kings will bow and nations will serve God. Psalm 72:11 – “All kings will bow down to him and all nations will serve him.” When kings bow and nation serve God, the fear of God will be established. Psalm 102:15 – “The nations will fear the name of the LORD; all the kings of the earth will revere your glory.”
8. Pray that the nations of the earth will open up for the Gospel of peace: Matthew 24:14 – “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.”
9. Pray that the nations of the earth will come to surrender to the name of Jesus and every tongue will begin to confess that Jesus is Lord: Philippians 2:10, 11 – “that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Romans 16:26 – “..but now revealed and made known through the prophetic writings by the command of the eternal God, so that all nations might believe and obey him”
10. It takes devotion, persistency, and consistence in the place of prayer to break through the wicked forces of the earth. Ask the Lord for a violent spirit. There is no way a nation will become righteous without a fight. Righteousness is good for the nation so that there can be peace but not without a price. Mathew 11:12 “12 From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been subject to violence, and the violent lay claim to it.” Proverbs 14:34 “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin condemns any people.”
11. Because the nations are God’s inheritance, pray that God will give the people of the nations’ hearts to know him and to turn to him in repentance: Jeremiah 24:7 “I will give them a heart to know Me, that I am the LORD. They will be My people, and I will be their God, for they will return to Me with all their heart”.
12. Pray that mockers of God in the nations must repent or face the wrath of God: 2 Chronicles 36:16 “But they mocked the messengers of God, despising His words and scoffing at His prophets, until the wrath of the LORD against His people was stirred up beyond remedy”.
13. There are many Isaiah(s) hidden in the nations awaiting the death of King (s) called Uzziah. Pray that the spirit of death will go the nations of the earth and bring them to their graves: Isaiah 6:1 “In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord seated on a throne, high and exalted; and the train of His robe filled the temple”
14. Finally, there is hope, declare that we will see the manifestation of these verses on the earth:
Daniel 7:14 “And He was given dominion, glory, and kingship, that the people of every nation and language should serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and His kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.”
Revelation 7:9 – “After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands.”
