1. God is not flesh and blood like us. He is a Spirit and we can only relate with Him by His Spirit. We have been given the Holy Spirit who is the Spirit of truth. His role is to help us reveal the truth about God and assist us in every aspect of our daily spiritual walk with God. John 14:26 “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.” Pray that during this season we will be humble enough to allow the Holy Spirit to teach us. Pray that the Holy Spirit will teach us everything we have to know as well as do during this season.
2. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.” As God’s temple we have a tendency to dwell in the flesh. Pray that we will remember who we are, what we are called to do, and having the understanding that we are no longer our own so that we can allow God to move through us.
3. 2 Corinthians 3:17-18 “17Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 18And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” Pray that we will be liberated from anything that will want to hinder our ability to wait our God as well as hear him in this season. Pray that we will all be transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit so that we may flow in the power of the glory of God.
4. Ezekiel 36:27 “And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.” Ask God to put his Spirit in us so that we will be transformed to follow him, keep in commands and be obedient to what is wants us to do during this season.
5. Isaiah 11:2 “And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD” Pray that the Spirit of God that rested upon Jesus, will come upon the speakers for this retreat as well as the mission trip, so that they are able to flow in wisdom, knowledge, understanding, and walk in the fear of God.
6. Acts 4:31 “After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.” Pray for the filling of the power of the Holy Spirit so that we are effective and bold to do the work of God.
7. Isaiah 63:10 “But they rebelled and grieved his Holy Spirit; therefore he turned to be their enemy, and himself fought against them.” Pray that God will help us so we will be sensitive and not grieve the Holy Spirit.
