2023 Retreat Preparatory Prayers - Day 9: Pray for the Speakers

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”
— Proverbs 3:5-6

As humans, if we are not careful, we can find ourselves in a place where we begin to think we have all what it takes to do God’s Work. The word of God is complete because it guides us into a path to prevent such a temptation. Proverbs 3:5-6 is what we need in our daily walk with him. Working with God should never be based on anything about us but all about him.

Pray that all the speakers for the retreat and the mission’s trip will ONLY trust God, depend on God’s knowledge and wisdom, as well as allow God to lead as they prepare.

John 16:13 “But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.” Pray that they will open their hearts and allow the Spirit of truth to guide them so that they are able to hear and only speak according to the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Isaiah 50:4 “The Sovereign LORD has given me a well-instructed tongue, to know the word that sustains the weary. He wakens me morning by morning, wakens my ear to listen like one being instructed.” Pray that as they prepare, God will give them the ability to download what they have heard from God so that they will be able to connect it to the needs of the people. Pray that they will listen and be attentive as God wakes their ears early in the morning to speak to them.

Exodus 4:12 “Now go! I will help you as you speak, and I will teach you what to say.” Pray that as they walk in obedience, God will help them and give them the right words to speak.

Isaiah 57:15 “For this is what the high and exalted One says— he who lives forever, whose name is holy: “I live in a high and holy place, but also with the one who is contrite and lowly in spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite.” Pray that they will be humble before God. God will not dwell in a pride and arrogant heart.

John 12:49 “For I did not speak on my own, but the Father who sent me commanded me to say all that I have spoken.” Pray that they will only speak as they hear the father speak. There shall be no addition.

Isaiah 10:27 “And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.” Pray for the anointing to flow through these servants with the grace to break yokes and deliver God’s people.

Jeremiah 1:9 &17 “9Then the Lord stretched out His hand and touched my mouth, and the Lord said to me, “Behold, I have put My words in your mouth.” 17Now, gird up your loins and arise, and speak to them all which I command you. Do not be dismayed before them, or I will dismay you before them.” Pray that God will put his word in their months and they will arise and speak as the Lord commands without any fear.

2023 Retreat Preparatory Prayers - Day 8: Worship and Praise God

“The LORD is my strength and my song, and He has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise Him, my father’s God, and I will exalt Him.”
— Exodus 15:2

We can never thank God enough for what he has done for us. Worship and praising with our months, along with singing, is also another way to express our gratitude. The psalm was an expert in expressing his gratitude through singing, as we see in Psalm 89:1 “I will sing of the loving devotion of the LORD forever; with my mouth, I will proclaim Your faithfulness to all generations.”

Today be encouraged to offer to God ONLY a sacrifice of praise and worship as you reflect on some things he has done.

He loves us: 1 John 3:1 - "How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!"

He is the Lord: Psalms 68:4 “Sing to God, sing in praise of his name, extol him who rides on the clouds ; rejoice before him—his name is the LORD.”

Everything comes from him: Romans 11:36 “For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.”

He has done many wonders (List them in your life). Psalm 40:5 “Many, LORD my God, are the wonders you have done, the things you planned for us. None can compare with you; were I to speak and tell of your deeds, they would be too many to declare.”

He is the lifter when we don't feel like anything: Psalm 42:11 “11 Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.”

Everything God does is right: Daniel 4:37 “Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and exalt and glorify the King of heaven, because everything he does is right and all his ways are just. And those who walk in pride he is able to humble.”

He is our strength and shield: Psalm 28:7 “The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.”

We are blessed in Christ: Ephesians 1: 3 “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.”

He is our source of food and water: Exodus 23:25 Worship the LORD your God, and his blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you”

Our salvation is secured through Christ and we are privileged to partner with him in ensuring the salvation of others: 2 Corinthians 5:18-19 “18 All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation;18 that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation.”

Through Christ he has revealed himself to us: Ephesians 1:17 “That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him”

He is the lifter of our heads above the enemy: Psalm 27:6 “Then my head will be held high above my enemies around me. At His tabernacle I will offer sacrifices with shouts of joy; I will sing and make music to the LORD.”

He is a prayer answering God: Psalm 62:2 “O Thou that hearest prayer, unto Thee shall all flesh come.”
