Day 13: 12/9/23: The Cry of the Righteous

“17 The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. 18 The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
— Psalm 34:17-18

When a baby cries out, the baby expects that the adult pick him/ her up and provide some tender loving care and protection. It is comforting to know that when you are righteous, you have an advantage over others in that you can cry out to the Lord who’s always near you according to Deuteronomy 4:7 “For what nation is great enough to have a god as near to them as the LORD our God is to us whenever we call on Him?” and he will hear you and deliver you. It is however important to note that this cry is not the childish shedding of tears but the deep cry from a the heart that fears God. Psalm 145:19 “He fulfills the desires of those who fear Him; He hears their cry and saves them.”

1 Peter 3:12 “For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”

We have to come to God and cry in confidence because his eyes are fixed on us and his ears hears our cry for help. Our God is himself is life, not a statue.

Psalm 145:18-19 “18

The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.

19 He fulfills the desire of those who fear him; he also hears their cry and saves them.”

Also, the Lord is not far off, we do not need to travel to go see him. However, he expects that when we call his name, we are truthful for he is the truth. Pray for a sincere and truthful heart drawn to the purposes of God.

1 John 5:14-15 “14 And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.”

Come before God in confidence today and ask that which is acceptable and in accordance with his will. Make your request known to him today in Jesus mighty name.

1 Samuel 1:10-12 “10 In her deep anguish Hannah prayed to the Lord, weeping bitterly. 11 And she made a vow, saying, “Lord Almighty, if you will only look on your servant’s misery and remember me, and not forget your servant but give her a son, then I will give him to the Lord for all the days of his life, and no razor will ever be used on his head.”

Hannah cried out to the Lord from a heart deep in pain and the Lord heard her cry and answered her giving her the desire of her heart. Ask the Lord today to come through for you as he did for Hannah. He is the same God yesterday, today and forever. Revelation 1:8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”

Hebrew 4:12 “For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”

God has given us a powerful tool, his word; which is living, active, shaper than any tool one can imagine, the word has the power to tear down, pierce and destroy even the soul and spirit of a man, it destroys the joints so that that man cannot run to demonic altars, the word is able to descend the intents of the heart. That is why the weapon of the enemy has no power over us. Isaiah 54:17 “o weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and this is their vindication from me,” declares the LORD.”

Pray against any weapon of the enemy on assignment against you life, home, family, marriage, children, ministry, finances, work etc. declare that it shall never prosper.

Colossians 1:16 “For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him.”

If by him and through him all things were created, there anything harmful to or threatening your existence can be destroyed. Call on the Lord to expose and destroy whatever is hidden, wherever located, that is threatening your existence or abilities in life.

Exodus 14:10 “As Pharaoh approached, the Israelites looked up and saw the Egyptians marching after them, and they were terrified and cried out to the LORD.”

1 Kings 9:3 “And the LORD said to him: "I have heard your prayer and petition before Me. I have consecrated this temple you have built by putting My Name there forever; My eyes and My heart will be there for all time.”

Pray that the Lord will consecrate your temple, so that he can make his dwelling there always.

Romans 12:1-2 “1 I appeal to you therefore, brothers,by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. 2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”

We have being granted access to the throne room of God although it has conditions; living, holy and acceptable. We can do this by subjecting our minds to the word of God daily so it is renewed and refreshed. Thus we are not able to be conformed to the earthly pattern of life that can be threatening the spiritual life but rather transformed by the word of God. Pray that God will help us to be transformed only by his word so we meet his expectations so that he can hear us when we cry.

Exodus 2:23-25 “23 During those many days the king of Egypt died, and the people of Israel groaned because of their slavery and cried out for help. Their cry for rescue from slavery came up to God. 24 And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob. 25 God saw the people of Israel—and God knew.”

Pray that God remember you and will to your rescue.

Hebrew 11:6 “And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.”

Pray that our faith will grow strong in trusting and believing that God is who he says he.

Matthew 28: 18- 20 “18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. The harvest is plentiful in Malawi. Pray that we will not lose sight of this great harvest.

Pray for the grace to seek God and all its righteousness, seek his strength, and his grace.

Acts 20:24 “But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God”

I pray that you will be filled with love. 18 I pray that you will be able to understand how wide and how long and how high and how deep His love is. 19 I pray that you will know the love of Christ. His love goes beyond anything we can understand. I pray that you will be filled with God Himself.”
