Day 1: The Lord is my Helper

“Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen. He named it Ebenezer, saying, “Thus far the LORD has helped us.”
— 1Samuel 7: 12

The hand of the Lord was against the Philistines and in favor of the Israelites and gave them victory over their enemies. The Israelites came to this place where they decided to declare that God had helped them. This same God had been there before now and had always helped them. Sometimes it takes a revelation to come to terms with life events. I am not sure what 2023 was like to some of you, but we all made it into 2024. It is time to let go 2023 and begin to thank God for helping you thus far. He who brought you here will carry you through in Jesus might name.

For us to accomplish anything this year, we must rely only on one source of help- God.

John 14:16 &26 “16And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever. 26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.”

Pray that we will allow and seek help from the ministry of the Holy Spirit who is the ordained helper from heaven.

Hebrew 4:16 “Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

Pray for the grace to draw closer to God’s throne room in confidence knowing that there is abundance of all graces waiting for us.

Psalm 121:1-2 “1 I lift up my eyes to the mountains. where does my help come from? 2 My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.”

Pray for the grace to trust God enough to obtain help from him.

Acts: 26:22 “Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come.”

We CANNOT achieve any spiritual work without God helping us. Let us ask God to help us this year with everything that he has entrusted in our hands.

Isaiah 41:10 “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

God has not given us the spirit of fear(2Timothy 1:7), thus we will face the challenges of 2024 without fear. Pray for strength, pray that God will uphold you with his righteous right hand through every step in 2024.

Proverbs 3:5-6 “5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. 6 In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”

Pray that we will not depend on anything about us but solely on the Lord who has all the knowledge, wisdom, and understanding of everything.

2 Chronicles 14:11 “And Asa cried to the Lord his God, “O Lord, there is none like you to help, between the mighty and the weak. Help us, O Lord our God, for we rely on you, and in your name we have come against this multitude. O Lord, you are our God; let not man prevail against you.”

Pray that for every battle we will cry onto the Lord and rely on him alone for victory.

2 Corinthians 9:8 “And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work.”

Pray with thanksgiving to God that every grace needed for every assignment has been made available. There will therefore be no struggle when we rely on God for help.
