Day 3: I Surrender

“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”
— Galatians 2: 20

One can never understand the concept of surrender if death has not taken place. When we are able to understand that life in Christ is the one in which “ I NO LONGER LIVE BUT CHRIST LIVES IN ME.” This means everything. Mathew 26:39 “Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.”

A surrendered life goes with the will of God and therefore does not have a self-will. Pray for the grace to surrender it all dying to self every day.

John 4:23-24 “23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”

A Surrendered life has a spiritual understanding of John 4:23-24 and therefore strives to worship God to standard. Therefore communication with God has no issues. Pray that the spirit of God will help us get to this place.

Romans 12: 1-2 “1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing, and perfect will.”

A surrendered life is an offering to God daily, it’s been made holy, accepted, and able to flow in worship as God wants. Therefore, this life is able to conform to Godly principles as approved by God’s will. Pray for such a life that God will accept during our interaction with him. If one cannot connect with God, the relationship becomes a problem leading to spiritual frustration.

1 Corinthians 6: 19-20 “19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.”

A surrendered life understands that it’s the temple of God therefore, it’s guarded with diligence. Pray that God will grant you access to this revaluation so that you will hand over to God who dwells within.

Luke 9:23-24 “23 Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. 24 For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it.”

A surrendered life must go through these stages of denying self, carry the cross, and follow daily. There is no compromise nor negotiation at any stage. Pray for the grace to enable you go through these stages wholly without reservations.

Philippians 2:5-8 “5 In your relationships with one another have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; 7 rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross.”

A surrendered life is gentle, meek, and humble. Pray for this grace. Be like Jesus.

John 15: 1-7 “1 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. 3 You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. 4 Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. 5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.”

A surrendered life understands the source of every that patterns to growth and Godliness. Pray for this grace.

Galatians 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.’

A surrendered life walks only by faith. Pray for this kind of grace.
