Day 8: The Church

“24 “Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to. 25 Once the owner of the house gets up and closes the door, you will stand outside knocking and pleading, ‘Sir, open the door for us.”
— Luke 13: 24-25

There are so many people sitting in the pews at the church, some in the choir, others preaching the gospel etc but still have not entered the narrow path- the way of righteousness. The broader way is the path that leads to destruction- the path where everything goes; I can worship God and still drink, listen to worldly music, go to movies that display outright Santanic stuff. I can still preach and fornicate or commit adultery, consult a witch and say it’s the Holy Spirit or do whatever I want etc. The door is about to close and the question is where are you standing??? Pray that Jesus will not close the door while some are still outside arguing about the word of God. Pray for the Holy Spirit to convict believers of their sin and the need to repent and walk in righteousness.

Colossians 4:2-6 “2 Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. 3 And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains.4 Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should. 5 Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. 6 Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.”

Prayer is not given to the church as an activity that we can choose or deny. It’s a spiritual responsibility and requirement of every true believer. Pray that the church will be devoted, watchful, and thankful at the altar of prayers. Pray that the church will build on and practice Intercessory prayers to intercede for the workers and the preaching of God’s word.

Colossians 1:9 “For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. “

Pray for the desire of the church to be filled with the knowledge of the will of God in all wisdom and spiritual understanding.

Acts 1:14 “With one accord they all continued in prayer, along with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers.”

Matthew 18:20For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them. “

The spirit of unity was in the mist of the church in the book of Acts and they prayed together all the time. The Lord will always be in our mist when we gather in unity. Pray for that unity in the church in Jesus mighty name.

Colossians 4:12 “Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.”

1 Samuel 12:23 “Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and the right way.”

Samuel has made us to see that it is a sin not to intercede for a soul in the church or community. We need people like Epaphras and Samuel in the church today who intercedes for the needs of others. Pray that this kind of grace will locate us in Jesus mighty name.

Ephesians 6:18 “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.”

Pray that the church will go back to the altar of praying always with all prayers and supplication in the spirit.

Colossians 2:6-8 “6 So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, 7 rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. 8 See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ.”

Pray that the church will experience the fullness of Christ as they continue to live in Christ, be rooted and built in him, strengthen in faith and not allow any false philosophy and traditions of men to take any form of roots in them. Pray that the church must study and master the word of God.

Colossians 1:10 “so that you may walk in a manner worthy of the Lord and may please Him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God.”

Romans 12:2 “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

To walk in the manner worthy of the call is to walk in the steps of Jesus, that means we must adopt and implement the way of the spirit and not the way of the world. We cannot be conformed to the pattern of this world (Romans 12:2)

Mathew 16:18 “And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.

Pray against the gates of the enemy standing against the church as we know that it’s already declared that it shall not prosper.

John 4:23-24 “23But a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth, for the Father is seeking such as these to worship Him. 24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”

This is the dispensation of true believers, worshipping God in spirit and truth. Pray that God will fine in us truth in the name of Jesus.

I Corinthians 12:22 “12 Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ.”

Acts 1:6 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Pray that the power of the Holy Spirit will be made manifest again the church. Although the acts of the apostle got this promise from the Lord, it took prayers to activate and bring it down on earth with the physical evidence such as speaking in tongues, boldness etc which want seen and fault on the day of Pentecost.

Romans 12: 6 Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith;

1 Corinthians 14:1 “Pursue love, and earnestly desire the spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy.

1 Timothy 4:14 “Do not neglect the gift you have, which was given you by prophecy when the council of elders laid their hands on you.”

Everyone in the church has a gift however, there are different graces for these gifts. Pray that we will identify our gifts and use them, pray for to cover it all.

Romans 8:38-39: “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Pray that the persecuted church will receive the grace to wait on the lord for delivery.

Matthew 5:13-14: “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.”

We are spiritual preservatives. Pray that nothing in us will be able to terminate or cause us to loose test in the mighty name of Jesus.

Psalm 23:4: “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and staff, they comfort me.”

God can never forget his own. Pray that his rod and staff will always guide and protect the procured church. Pray that God will provide the strength for every day.

Zechariah 2:5 “5 And I myself will be a wall of fire around it,’ declares the LORD, ‘and I will be its glory within.”

Pray that this verse above will come to pass in Jesus mighty name.
