Day 4: Praying for the retreat

Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
— Mark 11:24
14 And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.
— 1 John 5:14-15

God is not a man that he will not say the truth according to the Bible. Therefore, when we come to him in a time like this, we must first believe, create an atmosphere of confidence, and have faith that he keeps his Word and thus will hear and answer us. We cannot be double minded.

Mathew 18:21 “Then Peter came up and said to him, “Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?”

Mark 11:25 “And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.”

1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Ask God to forgive us, his church, our children, families etc as we also forgive everyone, there is no limit of forgiveness. Unforgiveness is the key that locks our breakthroughs.

Exodus 33:14 The Lord replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”

The presence of God is everything. Pray that he goes with us and dwells with us.

Mathew 16:19 “I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”

Pray that God open our eyes to see and use the KEYS he has given us. Pray that we take our rightful positions in Christ to bind and loose whatever the Holy Spirit shows us.

Joel 2:27 “You shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the Lord your God and there is none else. And my people shall never again be put to shame.”

Because the Lord is in our midst, we will not come back with any package of shame, sorrow and disgrace.

Psalm 34:4-5 “I sought the LORD, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. They looked to Him and were radiant, and their faces were not ashamed.”

Pray that as we wait on the Lord in this season, we will be delivered from all fears because he has not given us the spirit of fear.

Romans 8:28 “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”

As we fast/pray we must wait in confidence, knowing that it’s not a waste of time, knowing that everything will work out for our own good irrespective of what the circumstance is. God’s purpose always prevails. Ask God to give you that understanding.

1 Peter 5:10 “And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.”

God has all kinds of graces needed for our daily living. This is the time to ask for the manifestation of what is needed for you specifically; examples; the grace of restoration, confirmation, strength, establishment, ministry, fulfillment, and finishing your assignment etc.

Mathew 11:28-30 “28 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

Pray that we will not miss the opportunity to lay down at the feet of the master every burden, pain, sorrow, yokes, troubles etc

“Psalm 46:10 “Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”

Pray that God will be exalted on this earth as he finds us waiting in stillness and having confidence that he is God.

Hebrew 4:12 “The word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword,

piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

Pray that God’s word will find expression in our lives, family, church, nations during this season. Pray for the revelation of this word. Pray for the transformation of lives

Note: Remember to join the prayerline daily at 9 pm during these prayer/fasting days.

Blessings!!!

Day 3: Spiritual transformation

“Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”
— Isaiah 43:19
“But now thus says the Lord, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine.”
— Isaiah 43:1

It can be interesting when someone places a gift for you on the table and you pass by without seeing it. Very often, we miss God’s visitation because we are unable to perceive his presence and even what he is doing. When life becomes tough, it is always human to focus on what we see- the problem but very difficult to see what God is doing. As we prepare for this retreat, we should be asking God to open our spiritual senses to perceive what God is up to so that we are equipped with a heart to receive.

This is what the Lord is saying ( put your name in the passage Isaiah 43:1) I identify you by your name so you know I am speaking to you in this season. Open your eyes and ears to see and hear what I am doing in your life. Say yes to the Lord and ask him to help us.

Romans 12:1-2 “I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. 2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”

The first thing is to come and present ourselves before God. In so doing we align ourselves with God and his purpose. Oh God I came to the altar and present myself as a living sacrifice, sanctify it my God and make it holy so that I qualify to align myself with your purpose in the name of Jesus.

Philippians 2:6-7 “6 who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.”

Jesus was humbled even unto to dying for sinners like us. It was in the humble state that his name was lifted up and placed higher above every other name. In as much as we cannot ask God to humble us, we can ask God to help us show the pride that makes us unable to bow down.

Hebrew 12: 2 “Looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.”

Ask God to help us focus on Jesus and Jesus alone. Jesus endured everything that was placed before him for the seek of the glory ahead of him.

John 14:25: “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.”

Pray that the helping power of the Holy Spirit locate your teachable faculty, as well as provide guidance in all that you need to know in this season.

Acts 13:2 “While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”

As we spend time in fasting/prayers, ask God to separate you from for the work he has for you.

Psalm 23: 1-3 “1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. 3 He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.”

Pray that the good shepherd will provide all that is needed for your spiritual transformation. Pray for guidance into green pastures of his word, presence, and a walk in righteousness. This is want brings spiritual restoration.

Ephesians 2:10 “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”

There is a meaningful and intentional purpose for why you are created. Pray that the Holy Spirit will help you identify and begin to flow in that purpose and abilities.

Romans 1:16 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.”

Ask God for boldness to declare God’s word and share this gospel wherever you find yourself.

Note: Remember to join the prayerline daily at 9 pm during these prayer/fasting days.

Day 2: A Cry For Mercy

“Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your loving devotion; according to Your great compassion, blot out my transgressions.”
— Psalm 51:1

One does not need a Phophet to tell us the times in which we are living in. It’s very evident in what we see, hear, do or interact with/participate in etc. We are in the season where even visual lies are accepted as truths without any form of shame or regrets. However, the word of God is still the same. God will judge us based solely on his word and nothing else irrespective of our circumstance. It is very painful to see Christians living in sin worse than unbelievers. It is important that we cry for mercy for this is the best way out.

Ask God for mercy upon us as intercessors first before anyone else. We may have even failed to pray. Years ago, God trusted me enough to reveal one of his burdens to me about the nations. I took a causal approach to prayer, left it there causally, and never bothered. Fast forward to today, I see the manifestation of what God had showed. My heart hurt each time I see such wickedness. Had I taken it as a daily burden, I am sure the story would have been different.

Exodus 34:6-7 “6 And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, “The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, 7 maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children and their children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation.”

Cry for mercy and forgiveness for the sins committed by our parents, grandparents, spiritual parents, children, and family members etc.

The mercy of God is a shield against destruction so cry out to God: 2 Chronicles 30:9 “For if you return to the Lord, your brothers and your children will find compassion with their captors and return to this land. For the Lord your God is gracious and merciful and will not turn away his face from you, if you return to him.”

Psalm 57:1 “Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me, for in you my soul takes refuge; in the shadow of your wings I will take refuge, till the storms of destruction pass by.”

Nehemiah 9:31 “Nevertheless, in your great mercies you did not make an end of them or forsake them, for you are a gracious and merciful God.”

The mercy of God is a guarantee for a life time. Psalm 23:6 “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”

In the place of wrath ask God for mercy. The Mercy of God can avert death. Psalm 119:77 “Let your mercy come to me, that I may live; for your law is my delight.”

Ask for mercy on behave of the church. It’s becoming an entertainment center of religion and worldliness instead of prayer and worship. Jeremiah 3:12 “Go, and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, Return, faithless Israel, declares the Lord. I will not look on you in anger, for I am merciful, declares the Lord; I will not be angry forever.”

God will hear our cry not for anything else but his great mercy. Daniel 9:18 “O my God, incline your ear and hear. Open your eyes and see our desolations, and the city that is called by your name. For we do not present our pleas before you because of our righteousness, but because of your great mercy.”

Ask God for mercy over the wickedness in the nations:

Micah 7:18 “Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance? You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy.”

If God would put his mind to remember our sins, we will not be living. Ask God to remember only his mercy over the ministers of the Gospel. Thank God for Jesus.

Psalm 25:6-7 “Remember, Lord, your great mercy and love, for they are from of old. Do not remember the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to your love remember me, for you, Lord, are good. “

Finally thank the Lord who always look forward to showing us Mery and keeping his word.

Isaiah 30:18 “Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you;therefore he will rise up to show you compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice.Blessed are all who wait for him!”

Day 1: Thus far the Lord has helped us

Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen. He named it Ebenezer, saying, “Thus far the LORD has helped us.”
— 1 Samuel 7:12

Irrespective of what you may be going through, I am very certain that if not for God it could have been worse. It is good to always have an attitude of thanks no matter our circumstances.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

As we begin our fasting/prayers, we should appreciate God for everything and everyone.

Thank God for helping us thus far according to 1 Samuel 7:12

Luke 17: 15-16 “15 One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. 16 He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan.”

God appreciates our thanks. Thank the Lord for the things he has done. May be healing, taking you out of disgrace, shame and mockery.

Psalm 106: 1-2 “1 Praise the Lord! Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever! 2 Who can utter the mighty deeds of the Lord, or declare all his praise?”

Thanks God for his goodness and love. The goodness of God cannot be placed on the scale. He is not only good but does so with love.

Isaiah 41:10 “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Thank God that his strength upon our lives.

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”

Thank the Lord for being included in the plan for salvation and genius

love.

1 Timothy 2:1 “First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people.”

Thank the Lord using you to intercede for his people. How beautiful are your feet.

1 Thessalonians 16-18 “ 16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

Thank God for being joyful, prayerful, and thankful at all time. It can only be in Christ, in God where this is common.

1 Corinthians 1:4 “I give thanks to my God always for you because of the grace of God that was given you in Christ Jesus.”

Thank the Lord for his grace upon our lives that has enabled us to be what we are and where he is taking us to.

James 1:17 “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.”

Thank God for families: children, wives, husbands, siblings and friends. Every person who has contributed to our spiritual growth needs an appreciation and that best is to thank God for them.

Jeremiah 3/15 “And I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding.”

Thanks God for giving us great ministers of the word.

Acts 17:26 “And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place,”

Thank the Lord for nations irrespective of how you see them. God has a plan

Blessings!!!!
