Bethel

21-Day Fast: Day 20 - Return to Bethel: The Place of Transformation (a new name)

Genesis 35:1-3 “And God said to Jacob, “Arise, go up to Bethel and dwell there, and make an altar to the God who appeared to you when you fled from before Esau your brother.” Then Jacob said to his household and to all who were with him, “Get rid of the foreign gods that are in your midst and purify yourselves and change your garments. Then let us make ready and let us go up to Bethel, so that I can make an altar there to the God who answered me in the day of my trouble, and who has been with me on the way that I have gone.”

We have not kept our part of the deal we made with God so He is calling us back to the place we first covenanted with Him, knew Him, connected with Him, His love, forgiveness, kindness, grace, where we gave our lives and made those vows etc. Bethel is a familiar place, a place of new beginning, a place of change and transformation, a place of revelation.  To be back we need to clean house; get rid of anything that displeases God, the old self/ habits, idols, culture, activities, friends, etc., to make the journey lighter. Put on new clothes: worship, repented heart, holiness, righteousness etc. Raise an altar (communication line) and call on God.

Genesis 35: 9-15 “And God appeared to Jacob again when he came from Paddan-Aram, and he blessed him. And God said to him, “Your name is Jacob. Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel shall be your name.” Then his name was called Israel. And God said to him, “I am El-Shaddai. Be fruitful and multiply. A nation and an assemblage of nations shall be from you, and kings shall go out from your loins. And as for the land that I gave to Abraham and to Isaac, I will give it to you. And to your descendants after you I will give the land. And God went up from him at the place where he spoke with him. And Jacob set up a pillar at the place where God had spoken with him, a pillar of stone. And he poured out a drink offering upon it, and poured oil on it. And Jacob called the name of the place where God had spoken with him Bethel.”

The Lord showed up as promised and He is not a man that will visit without a blessing. Name changed from deceiver to a nation; a revelation of the person of God; rebirthing of destinies. It is our turn, God wants to change our names, destines, circumstances, and life; but He wants us to come back to the place we knew best; where we first met Him.

  • Open your month and cry out to the Lord, He has not changed. Forsake the old ways. Repent and come home. If He did it for Jacob then we are not different. Oh Lord we need your visitation. We need a total overhaul.

Isaiah 26:19 “Your dead will live; their bodies will rise. Awake and sing, you who dwell in the dust! For your dew is like the dew of the morning, and the earth will bring forth her dead.”

  • Transformation brings life. Declare this word over the church. Every dead church must come alive again. Call forth the church to arise and sing for there is a fresh morning dew from heaven to water the earth and cause the dead to arise.

Zephaniah 3:20 “At that time I will bring you in; yes, at the time I will gather you. For I will give you fame and praise among all the peoples of the earth when I restore your fortunes before your eyes," says the LORD.”

  • Transformation ensures our ability to enter into His presence. Pray that as the church enters into God’s presence this season, there shall be restoration of fortunes, praise, and fame before the eyes of people.

Ezekiel 39:25 “Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: 'Now I will restore Jacob from captivity and will have compassion on the whole house of Israel, and I will be jealous for My holy name.”

  • Transformation does not only bring restoration, but compassion of God over His people. Pray that God will have compassion again and will love the church with jealousy.

Isaiah 66:14 “When you see, you will rejoice, and you will flourish like grass; then the hand of the LORD will be revealed to His servants, but His wrath will be shown to His enemies.”

  • Transformation enables us to see the abundance of God’s blessings. Pray for the hand of God to reveal to the Church the plan of God that will cause us to flourish like grass.

Ezekiel 36:10-11 “I will multiply the people upon you with the whole house of Israel in its entirety. The cities will be inhabited and the ruins rebuilt. And I will multiply on you man and beast, and they shall multiply and be fruitful. And I will cause you to be inhabited as in your former times, and will do more good to you than ever before. Then you will know that I am the LORD.”

  • Transformation brings increase and multiplication. Declare that the church will be filled with people who are hungry for God.

  • Pray for spiritual fruitfulness.

  • Pray that our cities shall be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit

  •  Pray for an abundance of the heavens over the church.

Romans 9:26 “and, "It will happen that in the very place where it was said to them, 'You are not My people,' they will be called 'sons of the living God.”

  • Transformation brings recognition. Pray that the church will hear God calling out those in the back seat who may have been forgotten “come on sons and daughters of the living God”, the manifestation of the power of God has come.

  • Declare this word over the church. 1 Peter 2:10 “Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy”. Declare the mercy of God over His people.

Isaiah 65: 1 “I revealed Myself to those who did not ask for Me; I was found by those who did not seek Me. I said, 'Here I am! Here I am!' to a nation that did not call My name.”

  • Transformation brings revelation. Pray that God will reveal Himself again to the church.

  • Pray that the church will have a desire to seek God again.

Daniel 6:26 “I hereby decree that in every part of my kingdom, men are to tremble in fear before the God of Daniel: For He is the living God, and He endures forever; His kingdom will never be destroyed, and His dominion will never end.”

  • Transformation brings the fear of God. Declare this word over the people of the earth.

Isaiah 64:8 “But now, O LORD, You are our Father; we are the clay, and You are the potter; we are all the work of Your hand.”

  • Transformation reveals identity. Pray that the church will come to the knowledge of understanding that we are just a piece of the clay in the hands of God and He alone knows what He desires to shape us into.

Psalm 100:3 “Know that the LORD is God. It is He who made us, and we are His; we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture.”

  • Pray that the church will know that the Lord alone is God and we are the sheep. The sheep cannot direct the Shepherd.

Isaiah 29:16 “You have turned things upside down, as if the potter were regarded as clay. Shall what is formed say to him who formed it, "He did not make me"? Can the pottery say of the potter, "He has no understanding?

  • Transformation reveals position. Pray that as the church opens to the transformation power of the Holy Spirit, we will come to that understanding that without the potter we are basically nothing.

Isaiah 60:21 “Then all your people will be righteous; they will possess the land forever; they are the branch of My planting, the work of My hands, so that I may be glorified.”

  • Revelation reveals our nakedness and takes us into the throne room of the Father where we are cloth with the garment of His righteousness. Pray that the church will come to this revelation because our righteousness puts us in the right standing with God and thus secures our place in His kingdom.

  • Call onto the heaven and declare this word upon the church. How we need God at this time. Isaiah 45:8 “Drip down, O heavens, from above, and let the skies pour down righteousness. Let the earth open up that salvation may sprout and righteousness spring up with it; I, the LORD, have created it.”

Mathew 15:13 “But Jesus replied, "Every plant that My Heavenly Father has not planted will be pulled up by its roots.”

  • It’s a new season in the church. Open your month and command every evil tree still lingering around to prevent the flow of our blessings to be uprooted by fire in the name of Jesus.

Isaiah 33:1 “Woe to you, O destroyer never destroyed, O traitor never betrayed! When you have finished destroying, you will be destroyed. When you have finished betraying, you will be betrayed.”

  • Transformation brings blessings to us but judgement upon the enemy. It’s a season of transformation therefore in the name of Jesus declare; woe onto the destroyer and betrayer of the church and our destinies. The enemy will destroy or betray us no more. Their end had come in the name of Jesus. Their doors have been permanently shot in the name of Jesus Christ.

Revelation 5:9 “And they sang a new song: "Worthy are You to take the scroll and open its seals, because You were slain, and by Your blood You purchased for God those from every tribe and tongue and people and nation.”

  • Transformation gives birth to singing with the angelic host, a new song to our God declaring His worthiness. Let us join the heavenly host and declare that the Lamb of God is worthy because He was slain, His blood purchased everyone on earth. Hallelujah to the King who sits upon the throne.

Exodus 15:1 “Then Moses and the Israelites sang this song to the LORD: "I will sing to the LORD, for He is highly exalted. The horse and rider He has thrown into the sea.”

  • Transformation brings joy. It’s a season of a new song. Pray that God will put a new song in the month of His church. A song declaring that God alone is God. A song of appreciation that we have been purchased by the blood of the Lamb. We have been delivered from slavery in Egypt.

Isaiah 11:10-12 “In that day the Root of Jesse will stand as a banner for the peoples; the nations will rally to him, and his resting place will be glorious. In that day the Lord will reach out his hand a second time to reclaim the surviving remnant of his people from Assyria, from Lower Egypt, from Upper Egypt, from Cush, from Elam, from Babylonia, from Hamath and from the islands of the Mediterranean. He will raise a banner for the nations and gather the exiles of Israel; he will assemble the scattered people of Judah from the four quarters of the earth.”

  • Transformation brings us in contact with the Glory of God. It is time and Jesus is holding His banner of love, forgiveness, hope, joy, trust, comfort, redemption, righteousness etc. and the nations are gathered. He is stretching forth His hand calling us back into relationship, calling on the backsliders, the prodigal sons and daughters, the Jonah’s, the Sauls, the prostitutes etc.

  • Pray that the spiritual eyes of the church will be opened to see and receive what the Lord is doing at this time so no one will miss this powerful visitation.

Acts 3:16 “By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know has been made strong. It is Jesus' name and the faith that comes through Him that has given him this complete healing in your presence.

  • Transformation brings healing and restoration of health of the body, soul and spirit. Pray that this Pentecostal miracle will begin to manifest in our churches in the name of Jesus.
