21-Day Fast: Day 13 - The Flock (Sheep in the Pasture)

Know that the Lord, He is God! It is He who made us, and we are His; we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture.
— Psalm 100:3

1 Peter 2:25 “For you were straying like sheep, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.”

  • Pray for all the backsliders that the Spirit of God will arrest them.

Hebrews 13:17 “Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you.” I know that the flock had been deceived by some false preachers and so people have been wounded and careless about pastors. But remember God always have a remnant who have not soiled themselves. 1 Kings 19:18 “Nevertheless, I have reserved seven thousand in Israel--all whose knees have not bowed to Baal and whose mouths have not kissed him."

  • Pray that God will grant grace to the flock to obey the leaders of the church that God has placed as overseers.

1 Peter 5:5 “Likewise, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”

  • Pray that the flock will be humble enough to receive what the Lord has for them through the pastors.

Luke 10:20 “Nevertheless, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven."

  • Pray that your name is written in the books in heaven.

Jeremiah 50:6 “My people have been lost sheep. Their shepherds have led them astray, turning them away on the mountains. From mountain to hill they have gone. They have forgotten their fold.”

  • Pray that the flock will find its way back to the father.

Micah 2:12 “I will surely assemble all of you, O Jacob; I will gather the remnant of Israel; I will set them together like sheep in a fold, like a flock in its pasture, a noisy multitude of men.”

  • Pray that as God gather the remnant you will not be left out.

Psalm 119:176 “I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek your servant, for I do not forget your commandments.”

  • It is good to confess and ask God to help you connect again with the heaven.

John 10:14 “I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me,”

  • Does the Lord know you? Do you know Him? Pray that God will strengthen your relationship with him.

John 10:16 “And I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. So there will be one flock, one shepherd.”

  • Pray for the sheep that is not in the fold. Pray that they will open their hearts to the Spirit of God.

Isaiah 60:7 “All the flocks of Kedar shall be gathered to you; the rams of Nebaioth shall minister to you; they shall come up with acceptance on my altar, and I will beautify my beautiful house.”

  • Pray that as we come to the altar of the Lord, we will be accepted.

Proverbs 19:20 “Listen to advice and accept instruction, that you may gain wisdom in the future

  • One of the problems in the church is the flock does not listen. Pray that God will give the flock a listening ear and a heart to accept wisdom.

John 10:3-4 “To Him the gatekeeper opens. The sheep hear His voice, and He calls His own sheep by name and leads them out. When He has brought out all His own, He goes before them, and the sheep follow Him, for they know His voice.”

  • One of the expectations of the sheep-shepherd relationship is hearing the voice of the shepherd. Pray that every hindrance that prevents this must scatter by fire in Jesus mighty name.

  • Pray that the flock will be able to follow the leading of the Good Shepherd

Psalm 23: 1-3 “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.”

  • Declare this word over the flock of God.

John 10:5 “A stranger they will not follow, but they will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.”

  • Pray that the sheep will recognize the voice of the stranger and will flee.

Psalm 78: 52-53 “Then he led out his people like sheep and guided them in the wilderness like a flock. He led them in safety, so that they were not afraid, but the sea overwhelmed their enemies.”

  • A wilderness awaits every sheep but pray that while there, the Lord will locate you, led you to safety and cause that your enemies be turned to shamed.

Psalm 62:1-2 “For God alone my soul waits in silence; from Him comes my salvation. He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken.”

  • Pray that the flock will wait patiently for the salvation of God. It is at hand even though the wilderness seems too dark.

Genesis 29: 3 “And when all the flocks were gathered there, the shepherds would roll the stone from the mouth of the well and water the sheep, and put the stone back in its place over the mouth of the well.”

  • There is a place of watering where the sheep must gather, that is the fountains of the Lord, this is the place. Pray that the sheep will have spiritual eyes to locate this place.

Mathew 25: 31- 34  “When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on His glorious throne. Before Him will be gathered all the nations, and He will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. And He will place the sheep on His right, but the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.”

  • When Jesus returns in Glory seated on the throne and begins to divide the people, where will you be? Are you a sheep or goat? You better be on the right and be a sheep. Pray and ask God for the grace to not sell your seat to a goat. You do not want God to say according to Mathew 7:23 “And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.”

Mathew 25: 10- 13 “And while they were going to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with Him to the marriage feast, and the door was shut. Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us.’ But He answered, ‘Truly, I say to you, I do not know you.’ Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour.”

  • There is a time to buy and a time to wait for the bridegroom. Pray that the flock will be sensitive enough to understand the difference and buy when needed and wait when it’s time so that they will not have wasted time claiming to be a Christian.
