God’s Word is so rich with tools for our daily living. We just need to find out which tools to use for what purpose. One of the greatest tools is to decree His Word over our lives and circumstances. What does this mean? A decree is an official rule of law given by a legal authority. It means to command, order, or proclaim by authority. Other Bible interpretations have used other words like decide and declare. God has given us legal authority over His Word to speak it into situation and expects an outcome as God ensures that His Word does not return to Him void.
To decree a thing and have it established is to stand on the power and authority in the Word of God you are holding or referencing, affirm and align that Word with heaven (Psalm 119:89 “Forever, O LORD, Your word is settled in heaven.”) and command that Word to be moved from its heavenly kingdom or realm into the physical realm on the earth to be made manifest upon your life or situation (Mathew 6:10 “Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”). You are standing like Mary decreeing as in Luke 1:38 “And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word.” The reason you are doing this is because God is waiting for your mouth to speak that blessing or promise into existence according Jeremiah 1:12 “The LORD said to me, "You have seen correctly, for I am watching to see that my word is fulfilled." The Lord then stands and watches His Word to come to pass in your life according to Psalm 138:8 “The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands.” This is because His released Word cannot return to Him void according to Isaiah 55:11 “so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.”
We are going to decree these words into our lives, then wait on God to preform it according to our believe and truth in His Word. What we are doing is that we are affirming that this is what our lives and circumstance shall be as we enter and serve God into 2021 and the years ahead.
