Day 17: Mountain of the Lord’s Temple- The Church

In the last days the mountain of the LORD’s temple will be established as chief among the mountains; it will be raised above the hills, and all nations will stream to it
— Isaiah 2:2
On this mountain the LORD Almighty will prepare a feast of rich food for all peoples, a banquet of aged wine – the best of meats and the finest of wines
— Isaiah 25:6
The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.”
— Hebrew 1:3
Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you. For behold, darkness covers the earth, and thick darkness is over the peoples; but the LORD will rise upon you, and His glory will appear over you
— Isaiah 60:1-2
Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone
— Ephesians 2:19-20

I find God’s word very amazing in the way it uses simple practical things to express its spiritual significance. My body has so many parts with each having its own function. There is a clear reason why we have what we have. God has made no mistake with his creation. Palms 139:14 “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well”. If God has made me so wonderful what more of his church that he purchased (Galatians 3:13) with the blood of his son. His church is made up of wonderful people like you and me representing the different parts as stated in Romans: 12: 4-5 “For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.

Last two weeks, I felt a pain to my right foot at about 2am that woke me up from sleep. I was so uncomfortable that I had to get off the bed. I started praying against this sudden pain, walking around my bedroom but it was a challenge even to pray and walk. Everything about me was affected. I forced my mouth to pray because the pain was unbearable. I was not able to locate where my anointing oil was, so I began to take the steps heading to the kitchen. I had to hold the walls because I was unable walk well on my right leg, so most of my weight was on my left side. It went on for about two hours before the pain calmed down to the level I could tolerate. My whole body felt this pain even though it started from just one part-my right foot. My whole body was unable to function even after the pain as I laid back in bed exhausted, continued to pray in my spirit and eventually slept off not sure at what time. God put the parts there for its specific purpose else there would be no need of them. Every part has its specific function but they all at the end of the day ensures the entire body feels well and balance.

God has made the church one in Christ according to Romans 12:4-5 but each has a role to play to ensure that God is gloried. Just as I was awake because I felt the pain in my foot and upon awake, I was looking for a solution to the pain, so I prayed and walked around, so is the same way the church is expected to function. Everyone must feel the pain of the other and carry the burden of each other. There must be unity in purpose.

The church is in the season of the revelation of the glory of God in the person of Christ and as intercessors we are called to usher in this glory through our prophetic breakthrough prayers. This means we must remain in the back of the mountain where we are hidden in Christ in the place of prayer until we see this revelation as stated in Isaiah 2:2. In this season, the eyes of the church shall be open unto this revelation and they shall all come to the feast of the Lord.

1.       The revelation of Christ will only come through a serious season where the church embarks on teaching of and living by the true word of God: Pray that the church will teach the true gospel of Christ which is the power of God:  Deuteronomy 11:18-19 “You shall therefore impress these words of mine on your heart and on your soul; and you shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontals on your forehead. You shall teach them to your sons, talking of them when you sit in your house and when you walk along the road and when you lie down and when you rise up”.

2.       Pray that the church will desire to walk in holiness and righteousness: 2 Timothy 1:9 “He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time.”

3.       Pray that God will continue to build his church according to wat he wants: Hebrew 3:4 “For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything”.

4.       Pray for the revelation of Christ to the church because it is upon the revelation that a building is established. This church is not the physical build but is the person of Christ who represents God’s spiritual kingdom: Mathew 16:18 “And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.”

5.       Pray for the spirit of forgiveness. Pray that we will not be going around holding our prayers and that of others, keeping ourselves in bondage because of unforgiveness that we have been carrying for years: Colossians 3:13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

6.       Pray that in this season the eyes of the church will open up so they can see the light and therefore will arise and begin to shine. There is a need for the revelation of the light: Isaiah 60:1-2 “1 Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you. 2For behold, darkness covers the earth, and thick darkness is over the peoples; but the LORD will rise upon you, and His glory will appear over you”

7.       Pray for the revelation of the son of God to the church so that there will be the full manifestation of the power of God in the church: Hebrew 1:3 “The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.”

8.       Pray for the revelation of God’s word to shine froth against the blinded minds so that they are open to the gospel: 2 Corinthians 4: 4 “The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers so they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God”.

9.       Pray for the revelation of God purpose of the church- a house of prayer so the that church can get back to the foundation (which is prayer and the word): Isaiah 56:7 “These I will bring to my holy mountain and give them joy in my house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and sacrifices will be accepted on my altar; for my house will be called a house of prayer for all nations.”

10.   Pray for the divine Pentecostal visitation to the church as in the days of old: Acts 1:8 “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

11.   Pray that the church will experience a season of complete unity. Jesus was one with his father and there was nothing that was no accomplished: John 17:23 “I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.”

12.   Pray that the church will experience a season increase of God’s Word. Acts 6:7 ”And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.”

13.   Pray that the church will experience a season where Christ dwells in his church richly:  Colossians 3:16 “Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.”

14.   Pray that the love of the father and son will consume the heart of the church so that the love for one another may grow, sharing will also increase and we will see one another in his image and walk in one accord as the church of old: Acts 2:46-47 “Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.”

15.   Pray that God will strengthen his church and cause them to experience peace, walk in the fear of God and be encouraged by the Holy Spirit: Acts 9:31 “Then the church throughout Judea, Galilee and Samaria enjoyed a time of peace and was strengthened. Living in the fear of the Lord and encouraged by the Holy Spirit, it increased in numbers.”

Day 16: The Mouth of the Intercessor

As for Me, this is My covenant with them,” says the Lord: “My Spirit which is upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your offspring, nor from the mouth of your offspring’s offspring,” says the Lord, “from now and forever
— Isaiah 59:21
But he answered, “It is written, “‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God
— Mathew 4:4
This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success
— Joshua 1:8
Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers
— Ephesians 4:29

I was just reflecting about the positioning and purpose of my mouth. It was very interesting in my own understanding to note some of the reasons why my month is positioned in my face and nowhere else. I came to the conclusion and in agreement with God’s word that HE is amazing in all he does. He is perfect in all HIS ways and we must learn to trust HIM in everything He says. My month is located in my face which is in the view of everyone who first sees me. My month is a covering and regulator to one of the most important parts of my body; my tongue. As a covering and regulator, I can voluntarily control the opening and closing of my month as well as the words that comes out from my tongue as expression made through my month. This means I can control what my tongue will say at any point in time. It is also interesting to find that whatever I have in my heart can be expressed by my tongue through my month. If I am thinking about someone in my heart, to thank them for something they did, my heart will coordinate that thought with my tongue and my month will have expressed that thought in words to that individual. Although my mouth is the one that speaks, if my mouth is closed, the word cannot be expressed vocally.

It is very important to note that we have a covenant with the Lord in this ministry of intercession through his word; Isaiah 59:21. God’s word is also spoken to us through his mouth by which we live and therefore we must receive and harken to the word that comes out from him according to Mathew 4:4.in order to be alive because his word is live.  Hebrews 4:12”2 For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” As an intercessor, when we speak the word of God through our month, we must understand that the word of God is LIVE and ACTIVE, SHAPER THEN ANY DOCUBLE EDGED SWORD.  Therefore, we must be careful how we use our mouths, what words and how we say them. We cannot use our months as God’s instrument of intercession and also as an instrument of the devil. James 3:10 “Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be”.  Every word God has put in his word was meant to be there. Most often, we regret our own words. In Joshua 1:8, the word of God must never be absent from our mouth, we must make a deliberate effort to ensure that God’s word is in our mouths all the time. We must also make a deliberate effort to ensure that our months do not speak careless and unclean words. Ephesians 4:29 “29 “ Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.”

1.       Ask God for mercy and forgiveness over every word that you may have spoken out of your month that does not bring God glory. He is faithful to forgive so far as we confess that sin. 1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

2.       Start praying by declaring this word upon you and your household: Isaiah 59:21 “As for Me, this is My covenant with them,” says the Lord: “My Spirit which is upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your offspring, nor from the mouth of your offspring’s offspring,” says the Lord, “from now and forever.”

3.       Pray that God will raise you as a prophet of your generation to declare that word where ever you go:  Deuteronomy 18:18 “I will raise up a prophet from among their countrymen like you, and I will put My words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I command him.” Ezekiel 3:27”But when I speak to you, I will open your mouth and you will say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God.’ He who hears, let him hear; and he who refuses, let him refuse; for they are a rebellious house.

4.       Pray that the words of your month will be honest and consistent: 1Peter 2:12 “Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.”

5.       Pray that the words of your month will never lose its taste, each time it loses its taste, you see its manifestation as Colossians 3:8: Colossians: 4:6 “Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.” Colossians 3:8 “But now you must put aside all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips.”

6.       Pray and ask God to stretched froth his hand upon your month to cleanse and purify your month. Ask him to put his word in your mouth:  Jeremiah 1:9 “Then the Lord stretched out His hand and touched my mouth, and the Lord said to me, “Behold, I have put My words in your mouth.”

7.       Pray that God will make every word of his in your mouth to become fire and consume everything hindering our lives, ministries, and the church spiritually: Jeremiah 5:14 “Therefore, thus says the Lord, the God of hosts, “Because you have spoken this word, Behold, I am making My words in your mouth fire. And this people wood, and it will consume them.”  Revelation 11:5 “If anyone wants to harm them, fire proceeds from their mouths and devours their enemies. In this way, anyone who wants to harm them must be killed.”

8.       Pray that God will give you words them build others so that they will be able to see the light you are carrying: Colossians 4:6 “Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.” Ephesians 4:29 “Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.”

9.       You do not want to be careless because a day will come for you to give an account. Pray that the Holy Spirit will put a guard in your month and help you speak only when is needed: Psalm 141:3 “Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips!” Mathew 12: 36-37 “I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak, for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”

10.   Pray that your month will speak words of wisdom: Proverbs 10:31 “The mouth of the righteous brings forth wisdom, but the perverse tongue will be cut off.” Proverbs 17:27 “Whoever restrains his words has knowledge, and he who has a cool spirit is a man of understanding.”
