Day 2: Offering Our Children as A Living Sacrifice Unto the Lord

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them
— Ephesians 2:10
I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.
— 3 John 1:4
I will give them a heart to know that I am the LORD, and they shall be my people and I will be their God, for they shall return to me with their whole heart.
— Jeremiah 24:7

Every child has been specially created and designed in a unique way in Christ to bear good fruits (Ephesians 2:10) way before they were all placed in our wombs. However, being born into a sinful world, does not help our course, but in Christ, the word of God is fulfilled. The enemy works hard to prevent our children from living in the reality of God’s word. Our children have been created to walk in good works-bearing righteous fruits. To do so, we must teach them how to walk in truth (3 John 1:4) of what the word of the Lord says about them. We need the Holy Spirit to remove the embedded falsehood from their hearts and convict them of who God really is and expects from them. This enables them to build a healthy and Holy relationship with God and not view God’s word from a worldly perspective. There is no greater joy than seeing our children walking in the truth of God’s word in these dark days. That is why we must pray consistently and fervently if we have to fulfill James 5:16.

There is an expensive price tag on our children. We cannot afford to just look somewhere else and pretend we are not seeing what is going on. Our children are the future of the church, and we must stand on the promises of God, continuously resisting the devil and insisting that these promises must come to pass. We cannot afford to make the word of God look false in the lives of our children. Deuteronomy 14:2 “for you are a people holy to the LORD your God. The LORD has chosen you to be a people for His prized possession out of all the peoples on the face of the earth.”

Pray that as a family we will acknowledge our sins and ask for forgiveness before the Lord as the palmist. Psalm 32:5-6 “5Then I acknowledged my sin to You and did not hide my iniquity. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the LORD,” And You forgave the guilt of my sin.  6Therefore, let all the godly pray to You while You may be found. Surely when great waters rise, they will not come near. “

Pray that our children will totally surrender to the Lordship of Christ and will walk in the new life in Christ created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. 2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.” Ephesians 4:24 “and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.

Pray for an understanding of this word and desire to DAILY present their lives unto to the Lord as a living sacrifice that is holy and acceptable to God. Romans 12:1-2 “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.

Pray that the Holy Spirit will help our children not to allow the world to influence them in any aspect of their lives. Pray for the transformation of their mind by the word of God, for this pleases God. Romans 12: 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

Pray that our children will present their BODY PARTS as mechanisms of righteousness through which the power/glory of God will flourish and flow into their generation, challenge anything that has been or is attempting to take routes in their bodies. Romans 6:13 “Do not present the parts of your body to sin as instruments of wickedness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and present the parts of your body to Him as instruments of righteousness”

Pray that the Spirit of the Lord will give our children the wisdom to understand this verse. Pray that they will only walk in obedience that leads them to a righteous walk with the Lord and not to sin which leads to death. [We must understand that death here does not really mean physical death, it is spiritual but can lead to physical. This death leads to a heart of evil totally lost to sin and has no regard for the law of God. There are so many children in the holding camp of the enemy; we must pray them out of the enemy’s holding into God’s kingdom].  Romans 6:16, 19 “Do you not know that when you offer yourselves as obedient slaves, you are slaves to the one you obey, whether you are slaves to sin leading to death, or to obedience leading to righteousness? 19 I am speaking in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. Just as you used to offer the parts of your body in slavery to impurity and to escalating wickedness, so now offer them in slavery to righteousness leading to holiness.”

Pray for a revelation of God’s truth that will enable them to walk in the fruits of righteousness and put to death everything that looks sinful in the eyes of God.  Romans 7:5 “For when we lived according to the flesh, the sinful passions aroused by the law were at work in our bodies, bearing fruit for death.” Colossians 3:5 “Put to death, therefore, the components of your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires, and greed, which is idolatry.”

Pray that our children will be ministers of this gospel irrespective of their ages so that they will be able to draw their generation to become offerings of holiness, accepted unto the Lord. Romans 15:16 “to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles in the priestly service of the gospel of God, so that the Gentiles might become an offering acceptable to God, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.”

To be approved of God, he must know you. Pray that our children will be drawn into the presence of God and his word, studying the word as everything depends on it so that they will be effective and, without shame, share the word of God boldly. 2 Timothy 2:15 “Make every effort to present yourself approved to God, an unashamed workman who accurately handles the word of truth.”

Due to the fact that all these wicked things come from the heart, pray that God, the creator of the heart of our children, will give them a heart that knows God. He is the God of all mankind (Jeremiah 32:27), including our children; there is nothing too hard for him to do, even giving our children a new heart filled with the power of the Holy Spirit. Matthew 15:19 “For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies.” Genesis 6:5 “Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great upon the earth and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was altogether evil all the time.” Jeremiah 24:7 “ I will give them a heart to know Me, for I am the Lord; and they will be My people, and I will be their God, for they will return to Me with their whole heart.”

Our children have the word of God, we have to pray for the word in them to come alive and help pay attention to God’s command so that they will be able to shine even when they face darkness:  2 Peter 1:19 “We also have the word of the prophets as confirmed beyond doubt. And you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. Proverbs 6:23 “For this commandment is a lamp, this teaching is a light, and the reproofs of discipline are the way to life,

Pray for the grace that will help our children to trust God rather than their peers or themselves. Pray so that they will be able to gain an understanding of God’s word which will continue to illuminate their path and help them NOTE to take the high way that seems right in their own eyes.  Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” Psalm 119: 104-105 “I gain understanding from Your precepts; therefore I hate every false way. 105Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path”. Proverbs 14:12 “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.”

Pray for every child who has fallen from grace to return to the Lord with all their heart, getting rid of all the what they have carried from the world. 1 Samuel 7:3 “Then Samuel said to all the house of Israel, "If you are returning to the LORD with all your hearts, then rid yourselves of the foreign gods and Ashtoreths among you, prepare your hearts for the LORD, and serve Him only. And He will deliver you from the hand of the Philistines."

Pray that our children will hunger and thirst for the presence of God and his word, so that the Lord himself with them his ways.   Isaiah 2:3 “And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

Pray that as they seek to know the Lord, they will allow the word of God drop and sink in their hearts   Psalm 19:14 “Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.
