As we focus on praying for the various aspects of what constitutes the church, today I want to draw our attention on October 26th, the prayer day itself. We are asking that only the counsel of God shall prevail on that day. We may have many prayers to pray but we must focus on what God will want us to achieve.
Psalm 139:17 “How precious to me are Your thoughts, O God, how vast is their sum!” The thoughts of God are so precious and that is what we pray for that on that day as we gather we will be confident that he is smiling over us.
Exodus 33:13-16 “13 If you are pleased with me, teach me your ways so I may know you and continue to find favor with you. Remember that this nation is your people.” 14 The Lord replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”15 Then Moses said to him, “If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here. 16 How will anyone know that you are pleased with me and with your people unless you go with us? What else will distinguish me and your people from all the other people on the face of the earth?”
Pray that we fine favor with God and that his presence will go with us, dwell in our mist, and also give us rest so that everyone will see and know that God is pleased with us.
Isaiah 46:10 “I declare the end from the beginning, and ancient times from what is still to come. I say, 'My purpose will stand, and all My good pleasure I will accomplish.”
God knows everything from the beginning to the end. There is nothing that takes him by surprise. We must pray that on that day his purpose shall stand and he will accomplish all he intends and no man or thing will stand in his way.
John 16:13 “When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.”
As we prepare, pray that we will depend on the Holy Spirit to guide us into all truths and inform us of what God wants so that we will not add our own stuff.
Matthew 25:1-4 “1 At that time the kingdom of heaven will be liketen virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. 2 Five of them were foolish and five were wise. 3 The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them. 4 The wise ones, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps.”
We must pray for the grace to prepare right so we are not consumed by other things and miss his visitation. We must pray against the spirit of foolishness. We have no idea what God will do but we know he promised his presence. We want to be prepared and ready for every thing he wants to do on that day. We must come believing his word, filled with faith, trusting and looking unto him only as the author of our faith, be sensitive and focus without distractions.
Jeremiah 23:18 “For who among them has stood in the council of the Lord to see and to hear his word, or who has paid attention to his word and listened?”
Pray for the grace to see and hear God clearly on that day. We don’t what to miss anything. God may be giving direction as an Intercessor to pray for a specific mission.
Hebrew 4:12 “For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”
Pray that our hearts will be ready for the power of God’s word. Pray that the word of God will find fertile ground to act and to do according to his purpose.
Acts 10:38 “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.”
Pray for this anointing to be release on everyone leading any aspect of the events of the day. The sick and those oppressed by the devil must be set free.
Isaiah 61:1 “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound.”
Pray that as the spirit of God rest upon us, souls held in captivity by the devil must be set free. Pray that those in the prison of the devil must be released. No body will came back the same.
Deuteronomy 9:3 “But be assured today that the Lord your God is the one who goes across ahead of you like a devouring fire. He will destroy them; he will subdue them before you. And you will drive them out and annihilate them quickly, as the Lord has promised you.”
Pray that the Lord himself will go ahead of us and destroy everything that may make an attempt to stand in our way.
Psalm 24:7-10 “7 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. 8 Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. 9 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. 10 Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah.”
We must stand by the authority of the word of God to command every gate standing against this day to open up because the King of Glory has business to accomplish. We must challenge the gates of the enemy in every aspect.
Ephesians 6:12 “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”
Pray against the forces of darkness; rulers, authorities, powers of darkness, forces of evil in the heavenly realms. God that God will open our eyes to know what we are dealing with in this region.
Revelation 3:20 “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.”
Pray that we will be sensitive to hear God and open the door of our hearts to him.
Joel 2:13 “And rend your hearts and not your garments.” Return to the Lord your God, for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love; and he relents over disaster.”
Pray that the bride of Christ will return to the altar of fellowship for he is ready to forgive, show love and mercy.
Haggai 2:4 “But now be strong, O Zerubbabel, declares the LORD. Be strong, O Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest. And be strong, all you people of the land, declares the LORD. Work! For I am with you, declares the LORD of Hosts.”
Pray that the bride of Christ will be strengthened to carry on with the work of the kingdom having the confidence that they are not alone.
Isaiah 2:3 “And many peoples shall come, and say: “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob, that he may teach us his ways and that we may walk in his paths.” For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.”
Pray that we will come from this meeting filled with an understanding of God’s ways and new wine to serve the purposes of God in our communities.
Acts 1:18 “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
Pray that the power of the Holy Spirt will rest on us and commission us into the harvest field.
2 Corinthians 3:18 “And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.”
Pray for the spiritual transformation of God’s people. Pray that we will be so revived and filled with the glory of God and the desire to leave for him every day.
Psalm 40:5 “Many, O LORD my God, are the wonders You have done, and the plans You have for us--none can compare to You--if I proclaim and declare them, they are more than I can count.”
Pray and thank God for the things he alone will do on that day. Pray that God will surprise us.
Ephesians 3:20-21 “20 Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”
For everything God has done during this season of prayer/fasting for the church and finally for what he will do on October 26 and beyond, to him alone we must give the glory.
