Day 8: The Church

“24 “Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to. 25 Once the owner of the house gets up and closes the door, you will stand outside knocking and pleading, ‘Sir, open the door for us.”
— Luke 13: 24-25

There are so many people sitting in the pews at the church, some in the choir, others preaching the gospel etc but still have not entered the narrow path- the way of righteousness. The broader way is the path that leads to destruction- the path where everything goes; I can worship God and still drink, listen to worldly music, go to movies that display outright Santanic stuff. I can still preach and fornicate or commit adultery, consult a witch and say it’s the Holy Spirit or do whatever I want etc. The door is about to close and the question is where are you standing??? Pray that Jesus will not close the door while some are still outside arguing about the word of God. Pray for the Holy Spirit to convict believers of their sin and the need to repent and walk in righteousness.

Colossians 4:2-6 “2 Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. 3 And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains.4 Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should. 5 Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. 6 Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.”

Prayer is not given to the church as an activity that we can choose or deny. It’s a spiritual responsibility and requirement of every true believer. Pray that the church will be devoted, watchful, and thankful at the altar of prayers. Pray that the church will build on and practice Intercessory prayers to intercede for the workers and the preaching of God’s word.

Colossians 1:9 “For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. “

Pray for the desire of the church to be filled with the knowledge of the will of God in all wisdom and spiritual understanding.

Acts 1:14 “With one accord they all continued in prayer, along with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers.”

Matthew 18:20For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them. “

The spirit of unity was in the mist of the church in the book of Acts and they prayed together all the time. The Lord will always be in our mist when we gather in unity. Pray for that unity in the church in Jesus mighty name.

Colossians 4:12 “Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.”

1 Samuel 12:23 “Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and the right way.”

Samuel has made us to see that it is a sin not to intercede for a soul in the church or community. We need people like Epaphras and Samuel in the church today who intercedes for the needs of others. Pray that this kind of grace will locate us in Jesus mighty name.

Ephesians 6:18 “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.”

Pray that the church will go back to the altar of praying always with all prayers and supplication in the spirit.

Colossians 2:6-8 “6 So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, 7 rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. 8 See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ.”

Pray that the church will experience the fullness of Christ as they continue to live in Christ, be rooted and built in him, strengthen in faith and not allow any false philosophy and traditions of men to take any form of roots in them. Pray that the church must study and master the word of God.

Colossians 1:10 “so that you may walk in a manner worthy of the Lord and may please Him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God.”

Romans 12:2 “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

To walk in the manner worthy of the call is to walk in the steps of Jesus, that means we must adopt and implement the way of the spirit and not the way of the world. We cannot be conformed to the pattern of this world (Romans 12:2)

Mathew 16:18 “And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.

Pray against the gates of the enemy standing against the church as we know that it’s already declared that it shall not prosper.

John 4:23-24 “23But a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth, for the Father is seeking such as these to worship Him. 24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”

This is the dispensation of true believers, worshipping God in spirit and truth. Pray that God will fine in us truth in the name of Jesus.

I Corinthians 12:22 “12 Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ.”

Acts 1:6 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Pray that the power of the Holy Spirit will be made manifest again the church. Although the acts of the apostle got this promise from the Lord, it took prayers to activate and bring it down on earth with the physical evidence such as speaking in tongues, boldness etc which want seen and fault on the day of Pentecost.

Romans 12: 6 Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith;

1 Corinthians 14:1 “Pursue love, and earnestly desire the spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy.

1 Timothy 4:14 “Do not neglect the gift you have, which was given you by prophecy when the council of elders laid their hands on you.”

Everyone in the church has a gift however, there are different graces for these gifts. Pray that we will identify our gifts and use them, pray for to cover it all.

Romans 8:38-39: “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Pray that the persecuted church will receive the grace to wait on the lord for delivery.

Matthew 5:13-14: “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.”

We are spiritual preservatives. Pray that nothing in us will be able to terminate or cause us to loose test in the mighty name of Jesus.

Psalm 23:4: “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and staff, they comfort me.”

God can never forget his own. Pray that his rod and staff will always guide and protect the procured church. Pray that God will provide the strength for every day.

Zechariah 2:5 “5 And I myself will be a wall of fire around it,’ declares the LORD, ‘and I will be its glory within.”

Pray that this verse above will come to pass in Jesus mighty name.

Day 7: Prayers for our children

Children are the future of the family, community, church, and the nation. One of the best investment as parents is the send prayers into their current and future life. We must be sensitive and descending of the current times in which we live. The devil is working overtime to frustrate destinies and we cannot just look away. We must fight to preserve the generations after us. We must fight to ensure that we leave behind a legacy of an altar that has a voice to still speak.

“The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.”
— James 5:16

God is a prayer answering God. Therefore, we must be determined, intentional, and consistently pray for our children irrespective of what we see with our physical eyes. Pray that God will grant you a heart and the grace to pray for the children.

Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”

There may be so many plans, however, pray that Only God’s plan will come to pass over the lives of our children.

Jeremiah 24:7 “I will give them a heart to know that I am the LORD, and they shall be my people and I will be their God, for they shall return to me with their whole heart.”

Pray that God will give them a heart to know him and return to him with all their hearts.

Acts 2: 38-39 “38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.”

Pray that the Holy Spirit will draw the hearts of our children to the altar of repentance. We have repented and the promise of repentance is also for them. God keeps his promise.

Philippians 1:6 “And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.”

Pray that every thing that God has started in the lives of our children will by completely by him alone in Jesus mighty name.

Luke 2:25 “And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.”

Pray that our children will grow in wisdom, stature, and favor with God and man wherever they find themselves; school, work, church etc

Isaiah 29:24 “Then the wayward in spirit will come to understanding, and those who grumble will accept instruction."

Pray that Jesus who is the light of the world will illuminate the hearts of every wayward child, bring them to the place of repentance and understanding and cause that they surrender to the Lord.

Exodus 20:12 “Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you.

Pray that God will help them to honor their parents according to his word.

Romans 12:2 “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

The world is so corrupt so pray that God will help them not to depend and conform to this world but will desire to dwell and depend on the word of God that has the power to transform and renew their minds on a daily basis.

“Proverbs 3: 5-6 “5Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.”

Pray that God will grant them the grace to trust, depend, and seek God in every step of their lives.

Psalm 119:9 “How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word.”

Pray that our children will desire the word of God and live according to the word.

Proverbs 13:20 “Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm.”

Pray that God will help them choose friends with wisdom and knowledge of God.

Isaiah 54:13-14 “13 All your children shall be taught by the Lord, and great shall be the peace of your children. 14 In righteousness you shall be established; you shall be far from oppression, for you shall not fear; and from terror, for it shall not come near you.”

Pray that God will do according to his word stated here; teaching our children his ways, giving them peace, establishing them in his righteousness, protecting them from the enemy, taking away their fears, and keeping danger away from them in Jesus mighty name name.

2 Corinthians 10:4 “The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.”

Pray against and destroy every strongholds of the mind that has held them captive in Jesus mighty name.

Isaiah 54:17 “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.”

Pray that no weapon of the devil against our children shall ever stand. Condemn every tongue speaking evil against them. Pray that the fire of God consumes every plan and weapon of the enemy working against our children in Jesus mighty name.

James 1:17 “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.”

Thank God for the good and perfect gift of children. Do not worry about what is seen now. The goodness of God is in them and must be revealed and cause them to walk in greatness.

Day 6: Dealing with Spiritual high places and forces of Wickedness

“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”
— James 4:7

We have no power of our own to resist the devil but in Christ we are clothed with all what it takes to not only resist him but to bring him down. Therefore, we must first submit to God’s authority and guidance. Remember satan was defeated on the cross therefore, irrespective of our circumstances, we have the victory over the power of the enemy, over sin, etc.

We resist the enemy by the word of God and our testimony. For example: Romans 8:1

“Therefore there is now no condemnation [no guilty verdict, no punishment] for those who are in Christ Jesus [who believe in Him as personal Lord and Savior].”

Believe the word of God, cement it in your heart, and pour it out to the devil’s face each time he comes. Remember he does not give up. We have to keep resisting him.

Ephesians 6:12 “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.”

John 8:44 “You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.”

The devil who is the father of all lies makes every attempt to device us to think our fight is between flesh and blood. He understands what will happen to him when we walk in love and unity. Jesus was quick to rebuke him when he went after Peter (Mathew 16:23).

1 Kings 3:2 “The people were sacrificing at the high places, however, because no house had yet been built for the name of the Lord.”

Sacrificing to demons, wizards, witches etc cannot be going on in our families, church or communities, nations when we say we have raise altars of righteous prayers onto the Lord. We are a generation that calls into to the name of the Lord, we must not tolerate wickedness. We must wage spiritual war against such wickedness acts in the name of Jesus.

1 Peter 5:8-9 “8 Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world.”

Ask God to grant you the grace to be watchful- spiritual alertness. Stand on the word/promises of God and declare that the devil will not see you as he goes around or anything/anyone related to you. Declare that you are covered by the blood of Jesus.

Romans 8:11 “And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit, who lives in you.”

Stand on Romans 8:11 declaring that the same Spirit should arise within you and bring every aspect of your being to life in its aboundance also according to John 10:10.

2 Corinthians 10:4 “For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds.”

Stand on this word to dismantle and pull down every form of strongholds against you, family, work, finances, church, ministry etc

John 10:10 “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”

Pray that the devil cannot and will not steal, kill or destroy anything concerning you, your family, the ministry, the church of God. Declare life in abundance in and on every aspect and every thing.

Jeremiah 32:35 “They built the high places of Baal in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, to offer up their sons and daughters to Molech, though I did not command them, nor did it enter into my mind, that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin.”

1 Kings 22:43 “He walked in all the way of Asa his father. He did not turn aside from it, doing what was right in the sight of the Lord. Yet the high places were not taken away, and the people still sacrificed and made offerings on the high places.”

Call for the judgment of God upon any high place where children have been offered as sacrifices in our families, communities, churches and nation. They must not exist in Jesus name. God hates the shedding of innocent blood. The only blood that has a right was the Blood of Jesus.

Psalm 55:15 “Let death steal over them; let them go down to Sheol alive; for evil is in their dwelling place and in their heart.”

Declare death over every form of wickedness/altars and their owners.

2 Chronicles 28:25 “In every city of Judah he made high places to make offerings to other gods, provoking to anger the Lord, the God of his fathers.”

Pray that every high place where your name, children, household, ministry or anything connected to you, your picture, hair cloths etc has been offered as a sacrifice to others gods the anger of God judge and destroy them by fire in Jesus name.

Deuteronomy 33:29 “Happy are you, O Israel! Who is like you, a people saved by the Lord, the shield of your help, and the sword of your triumph! Your enemies shall come fawning to you, and you shall tread upon their backs.”

Put your name in the place of Israel and Declare over your life and family.

Deuteronomy 33: 25-28 “25 The bolts of your gates will be iron and bronze, and your strength will equal your days. 26 “There is no one like the God of Jeshurun, who rides across the heavens to help you and on the clouds in his majesty. 27 The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms. He will drive out your enemies before you, saying, ‘Destroy them!’

28 So Israel will live in safety; Jacob will dwell secure in a land of grain and new wine, where the heavens drop dew.”

Declare this passage over your life, everything and everyone associated with you.

Thank the Lord for hearing us and for Jesus interceding for us.

Romans 8:34 “Who is there to condemn us? For Christ Jesus, who died, and more than that was raised to life, is at the right hand of God--and He is interceding for us.”

Day 5: Ministers of the Gospel

If there is one thing someone can do for the church, it will be praying for the purpose of God. We cannot understand the mind of the father without connecting with him in spirit and prayer. Our ministers need us on our knees. We have to prayer for them.

“19 Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.”
— Ephesians 6:19-20

Pray for wisdom as God grant grace to down load His mysteries into the hearts of his people. Pray that ministers will preach the gospel fearlessly.

Acts 4:13 “When they saw the boldness of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they marveled and took note that these men had been with Jesus.”

Acts 4:31 “After they had prayed, their meeting place was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.”

Pray that ministers will flow in the gifts of the spirit as they are filled with power.

This same Peter was not this bold when Jesus was still with them. With the team of disciples they spent time in the upper room in prayer and the word. Transforming and anointing comes only from the place of prayer and the word. Pray that ministers of the Gospel will spend QUALITY time in prayer and the word of God.

1 Corinthians 12:28 “And in the church God has appointed first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then workers of miracles, and those with gifts of healing, helping, administration, and various tongues.”

Although we see the abuse and improper use of ministers, they must work deliberately in their respective calling

“Philippians 4:19 And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.”

Pray that God will arise and supply the needs of the ministers; emotional, financial, family, physical and spiritual needs etc.

2 Corinthians 9:8 “And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.”

Pray that God will make all grace sufficient for every given assignment. There is grace for every thing God has asked ministers to do.

Deuteronomy 31:6 “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Pray that this scripture becomes a reality to every minister.

Isaiah 54:17 “No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and this is their vindication from me,” declares the Lord.”

Pray against every weapon of the enemy irrespective of where it’s coming from.

Psalm 18:31-35 “31 For who is God besides the Lord? And who is the Rock except our God? 32  It is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure. 33 He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; he causes me to stand on the heights. 34  He trains my hands for battle; my arms can bend a bow of bronze. 35  You make your saving help my shield, and your right hand sustains me; your help has made me great.”

Declare this word of ministers of the gospel of hope.

Zechariah 2:5 “5 And I myself will be a wall of fire around it,’ declares the LORD, ‘and I will be its glory within.”

Pray that will that this verse above will come to pass in Jesus mighty name.

Acts 20:28 “Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood.”

Ministers of the gospel are God’s care takers for his children. Pray that as ministers, they will not fail their spiritual assignment of taking care of people.

2 Timothy 4:2 Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching.

Pray for the grace to preach the word and to walk in accordance with the word.

Romans 15:13 “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.”

Pray for peace and joy in every aspect of love.

1 Peter 4:11 “Whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.”

Finally, pray that as ministers called to partner with God on the earth, they will give all the glory of God.
